I wouldn't mind if neither returned.
I'm good with Lee because the Cowboys have already shown a willingness to use him in more of a secondary role to the young guys, but they have not shown they are willing to do the same with Witten. I would be okay with Witten if his role were more the secondary role Jarwin played last season, but in the absence of that I think letting him walk is the best choice.

thats a neutral comment it mean nothing and mean everything.. Lee and witten both could still end up on the team with Dez and leary back or None or a mixed of all..

I like articles with Zero validity..its guessing until the FO decides what actual direction they go..gots to luv the offseason where nothing at all has happened since seasons end but yet everyone has an article and opinion of what MIGHT happen..
I said Calvin Watkins was the source, if it really bothers you that they didn’t do a 3 page breakdown on the topic go check the source of the info out.

Here we have on sportswriter, Mike Chaiari, who writes an article based on another sportswriter, Calvin Watkins who doesn't quote a single source. So a sportswriter speculates something and another sportswriter continues the speculation. Again I say instead of listening to speculation we should just wait until the actual people that make the decisions make those decisions. Oh wait I guess we don't have to because sportswriter and insiders have never been wrong. Oh wait, that's what the sportswriters and insiders want us to believe.

The title of the thread literally starts with “COWBOYS RUMORS”

A reporter with inside sources is giving us a peak into what he’s hearing. Why people get soooo worked up about these things is hilarious. It’s a bit of info from someone with more access than anyone of us has, take it for what it is and stop throwing fits everytime someone posts about some rumor mill news. It’s the offseason bro this literally is the basis of this forum for the next 4 months, get used to it

Sean Lee is needed for insurance in case the wolf hunter is not healthy. Witten as the starter is only seen as a progress stopper for Jarwin. Wit would have more of a chance if he agreed to play second fiddle but it seems he won't do that.

Some of us were saying he wouldn't do that when they brought him back....even though he said he'd be okay with it....and we were right. The guy didn't retire until after the draft, putting the Cowboys in a more difficult position than he should have, then he sucked as an announcer and rather than work hard to fix what he was doing wrong and welcoming the challenge, he retreated back to the Cowboys stating that he'd be fine in a backup role and being limited in snaps and mentoring the younger guys since this was their team.... How'd that work out? lol

I thank him for his years of hard work and play for the Cowboys, but it's time. Bye-bye Jason.

It's yet to be determined if he will return so I wouldn't count him out just yet. I'm with you, it's time for him to retire but if not, then the Cowboys just need to let him know he's going to have to find a roster elsewhere that will have him.

Lee will likely be the starting weak-side linebacker alongside Jaylon & LVE. Lee is also capable of sliding inside when need be, as he spent much of his career at middle linebacker.

Witty needs to retire as a Cowboy & stop talking nonsense by wanting to join Garrett. Being he knows he won't be a starter any longer w/Dallas he should consider being a mentor for our young TE's corps.

He will be cheap and will probably help us transition quicker into a new defense.

Also, we don't know whats up with LVE.
Not knowing what's up with LVE is exactly why I don't think Lee is a good guy to have. He's not good enough anymore to be a long-term starter, and he isn't going to be effective on STs, which bottom-roster LBs need to be.

The new defense won't change much for the LBs. There's only so much you can do with them.

Just to appease the Lee fan boys on here, he can come back at the vet minimum but other than that, no thanks Snake! We most def need to get younger at the position with an available body for the entire season who can make plays and stop 3rd down conversions to force the punt.

Took Lee 9 years to complete his 2nd full season without missing extensive time and now fans think Lee has found the fountain of youth again. Fool me once, shame on you; Fool me twice, shame on me.

Take Crawford, and Witten with you too!

Witten was a 3rd round pick that will be in a hall some day. We have a 2nd round pick now that can't find his way through the locker room. I agree its time for him to go but, the disrespect is just crazy.

It's not even that.. I think they will need him to get a lot of people lined up potentially.

Jarwin will get his chance. Hate it that Witten stayed longer than he should have. He was great but stayed a little to long.

The problem is since we have LVE we don't want to spend big (draft or free agent money) on a starting LB for a "long term starter", but we do need someone who can step in and function as a starter in the near term if LVE has more problems. Lee can fill that role.-
