you know players have held out well before Zeke right? He's not the guy who spearheaded holding out while still under contract

It's rare cause most rookies(rounds 2-7) don't holdout for long cause they can lose the UFA eligibility following their 4th year, meaning their team can tender them and own their rights for another cheap year.
Zeke could holdout cause he was signed for 5 years off his ELC and could of always reported in time for camp in his 5th year and gotten UFA eligibility.
Ngakoue wanted to holdout last year but pulled out last second to gain his UFA eligibility. Jaguars franchised tagged him, but at least he'll get paid 19.3mil this year, and can always be traded/new deal.
If the new CBA is approved before the start of the new season/March 18th, will the new tougher holdout rules be for this offseason or for 2021?

They absolutely need those tough new rules, because these rookies that play at a very high level were going to start holding out like crazy. I still expect Kamara to hold out. The new CBA doesnt take effect this year when it passes.

the one i can remember off the top of my head is CJ2K ... he held out during his rookie contract... the titans caved

It may have been JaMarcus Russell who was the #1 draft pick in '07. He was a colossal, destructive & an awful bust in that draft. Despite his flaws, the man was also paid a handsome sum of money prior to his rookie season.
After months of holding out, he got his way & signed a six-year, $68 million deal.

that has zero relevance to what Im talking about. 1, Russell held out prior to having a contract, 2) there was no rookie cap at that time.

are you all not seeing wth im talking about? Emmitt didnt have a rookie deal that put caps on his contract. Im talking about these players that entered the league after that terrible Jamrcus Russel deal, Im talking about rookie that have set years and salaries in place due to the CBA. Now name me one of those guys that held out ????????

yep.... but Gordon was not as good as Zeke, or Kamara.... so Gordon tried to holdout with a team that is already cheap, and he got punked. By the way, I would have done the same with Zeke.

While that's true, besides the signing bonus, his new contract starts next year. So in 2020 he'll be playing under the 5th year option money.
