Did Romo teach Phil how to overcome disappointment on an annual basis?

That’s what he taught me, how to be a loser when it mattered most but “oh well, that’s life” as he famously said after one of the biggest playoff losses of his career.
Do you remember what Tony was wearing that day to. lol Let it go man, that team he lost to upset the SB favorite and won it all.

I guess Dak's epic week 16 Philly failure this year doesn't stick with you? Against a no mas secondary he throws 0 TD's, can't direct a single TD drive. I know, I know, that damn Garrett.

stop with your agenda driven garbage and answer me this

how can a person be an “extreme winner” when he played professional sports for a decade and NEVER won anything meaningful

NOT ONE SB win

not even an NFCCG win

but he’s an “extreme winner”?

stop it already

you’re exposing your ignorance

23rd all time in TD passes despite playing the equivalent to only 8 full seasons. He couldn't see a thing.
Yet he could never do anything worthwhile with all those TD passes, nothing but a show pony and not a true work horse, fragile as glass.

“Extreme winners”

:omg:

a guy who won not a single championship in the NFL?

missed the cut in golf ?

:lmao2::facepalm:

Romo is a talker just like Garrett

that's why he’s great at talking on the air
Could not be more wrong.
Romo was almost unhealthily obsessed.
Always one the bigger misconceptions about him was that we wasn't obsessed with winning.
So many stories of him being at Valley Ranch when the only ones left were the cleaning crew.
But it's a team game. He made his mistakes, but he sure wasn't alone.

And who gives a crap about golf. What kind of serial idiot would even bring that up. He's better at golf than 99% of football players. But that was not the topic.

And yet again wrong on the "talker" part.. He didn't become a talker until it was his job as an analyst to do so.
He'd get bashed non-stop when he was a QB and never (or extremely rarely) came to his own defense or made excuses.

Telling me to let it go? I’m not the one starting threads about him 4 years after he retired, I just scoff at those who do for that exact reason.

You know what does stick with me? Romo’s epic fumble when he couldn’t even hold the snap to beat the Seahawks wild card game.

The Giants were SB favorites? Huh, could have sworn the Cowboys were the ones who were 13-3 that year and had the first round bye. I also could have sworn Romo went to Cabo to frolic around in the waves with Witten and IIRC Romo threw an INT with ~30 seconds left when it was 1st and 10 from the Giants 20.

Clutch, I mean choke, defined his career, but hey, he has some fancy stats that appeal to the Romoholics for some reason. Personally, I’d take Joe Flacco and a ring over a bunch of good looking stats on paper.

BTW, I never mentioned anything about Dak, weird you brought him up.

If you're going to use the Hate Card use it when Dak's not playing w/torn ligaments on right side of his shoulder playing arm, left wrist sprained & right throwing finger cut. As I recall these injuries occurred weeks prior in the 1st quarter vs the RAMS but continued playing and defeated a winning team.

IF you had watched the Egals game, you would also have noticed the great Moore benched our two top receivers on the last & most important play of the season with the division crown on the line on 4th & goal.

I understand how your hate blinds success. It's a normal symptom. Moving on....

Again, I was talking about Romo, not Dak. Why does everyone have to make a criticism against Romo or Dak one vs the other? Look up my thoughts on Dak and get back to me.

BTW, Dak is still playing, his legacy is far from being decided like Romo’s has although Dak has already accomplished a good portion of what it took Romo to accomplish during his entire career. Take that for what it’s worth.

ONCE again,IF Romo had a TEAM to work with things could have been different. Put Brady on them Romo teams he would not even be close to the greatest of all time. Romo carried this team his whole career and people want to trash him because he couldnt win the big one by himself. Name a QB who can!
Mahomes.

Why the heck was he even asked to hold the damn snap? What team askes their starting QB to catch and place snaps on kicks? So dumb.

there are plenty of hard working losers in every walk of life

you can’t call them “extreme winners” if you have half a brain

so then by your definition all QBs who never won anything are all “extreme winners” LOL

A minimum requirement for “winners” has to be to win

at some point you have to actually start using your brain

How to choke in December?

LOL another 5% er...so here’s my advice to them

Better not to remain silent on the lack of football knowledge than to write something and prove it.

The Romo obsession here is embarrassing. Dr. Phil isn't talking about team accomplishments, he's talking personal accomplishments, ya bunch of geniuses. He didn't mention team wins, he is discussing how Romo went from undrafted to starting for America's team for a decade and then going directly to the booth and becoming the most sought after color analyst free agent on the market. That makes him successful. That makes him a winner IN THAT CONTEXT.

The board IQ here is so low it's feeling like the arctic.

The Tuna didn't want to embarrass his boy Bledslow by making him do it.

Certainly had nothing to to do with his play as a QB

It seemed clear to me.
He was defining the winners at life as those that strived to always improve...even to the level of obsession.
