Tyron concern is more exagerrated than the Williams hate

1. He had 6 total holding penalties, not 10. 3 of the calls where so bad that the announcers LITERALLY called out the refs for it during live coverage......

2. Tyron was playing an all-pro level before his 40 million dollar Quarterback crashed into his ankles. They rushed him back from his injury and he got most of his season penalties those first 2 games back from injury (Philly and Giants game). Once he was actually healed he had 1 holding penalty TOTAL in the last 7 starts of the year.........

3. Leno, Bakhirati, Lewan, Villanueva, Whitworth, Tunsil, Penn are franchise pro bowl caliber LT's and literally all of them had more penalties than him and everyone except Bakhirati was graded worst than him. The "he's a penality machine" or "he's no long a top 3 NFC left tackle" are both jokes.

Tyron's health and performance are extremely exagerrated on this forum.

Tyron despite having his jabroni QB shatter his ankles still had a pro bowl caliber year.......

I was, of course, talking about the Dallas Cowboys offensive linemen. I read he had 10 offensive holding call but stats websites indicate he had only 5 (my bad), but his 5 was the worst on the team. Connor Williams was 2nd with 2.

Since 2012, Smith's holding calls each year were 2,1,2,3,4,5,7,5. These are just the holding penalties that were accepted and not offset. I have no doubt that some may have been bogus calls. Refs make bad calls every year against every team. But they also miss calls. It evens out. Additionally, as I stated from watching his film, DE's seem to be beating him around the edge more than in past years when no one could get around Tyron Smith. So as I said, 2020 will be a pivotal year for him. Holding calls are usually the result of being beaten, out of position, off balance, or some other issue.

Maybe its unfair of me to compare Tyron Smith of the past to Tyron Smith of now but I think its necessary in understand where the team's strengths and weaknesses lie. This is how a team prepares for its future.

I don't know why Tyron's back can't be fixed considering our training staff, and the medical options available bro him? Seems like they could spend all off season stretching, exercising, surgery if necessary, traction, massage, nutrition, etc. For his back. :). He needs to go talk to Tom Brady's trainer. ;)

Only IF he's 100% recovered from both of those game & season ending injuries he endured in Philly last season.

Quote some stats and feel all important. I played left tackle and watch the line whenever I watch any football. He has lost his foot quickness. He leans into rushes instead of meeting them.

Maybe he can heal up more and get back to the same foot speed he had, but the last two years there has been a big drop off. Foot speed and technique with punch is what makes a left tackle. Leaners have to go inside.

No, Williams was not that bad. He continues to struggle against players who can overpower him, and i'm sure playing next to a not 100% Travis Fredrick didn't help that. I have nothing against XSF either, but that guy has his flaws as well. He could easily land a starting gig in the NFL, but I wouldn't pay him starter money with what the Cowboys already have on the roster. Honestly i think the goal should be to see better production out of that spot than what we got from both of those players last year. Connor still has the ability to improve on the field, but at this stage in his career XSF probably is what he is.

Lol just about every DL will over power Williams.. he should he moved to a swing tackle role.

I prefer Looney and wish he had started the season last year...

This guy should have been starting all year long if it wasn't for incompetent Garrett coat riding Conor Williams. XSF has size, strength & athleticism to play in power or zone scheme with McCarty's offense. When he was starting Dallas had a stout running game, and Dak never got pressured from middle allowing him to take the deep shots. Jerry should be able to resign him for a team friendly deal.

Also every-time Tony Pollard ran behind him he got 30+ yds!

He started the his last four games until he broke his leg and went on the DL and I’m sure had he not been injured he would have continued to start.

I’m a fan. Looking forward to him coming back and I’m sure they’ll try to sign him

There are bigger needs than sua. Our DL is razor this and we are starting the b team at DB. Since McGovern can primarily backup center keeping sua if cheap enough is fine. But we really need to adress the defense with as much resources ad possible.

Guard—McGovern, Martin, Williams, Filo
Center—Fredericks, Looney
Tackle—Smith, Collins, Hyatt

If McGovern starts at LG, couldn’t Williams play swing T?

?

McGovern will not beat out XSF if he is extended.

if you could have your choice between keeping/re-signing Xavier Sua Filo ...vs return of ex- Cowboys Ron Leary ?
.. which one of the two would you rather have ?
