But he went 8-8 last year with a good team and he was in a contract year. He performed mediocre. His stats were generated with the probably the best OL and top running back. He’s not that good because our OL was not as good. Dak needs 4-6 seconds to make a decision on the snap, he doesn’t feel pressure. He should take the money ASAP. Jerry is a fool to offer this deal. It makes me wonder about MM. Hopefully MM has no influence here with this deal.
It's a team sport, the team was NOT good. His performance was one of the best in the league as he led the #1 ranked offense.

But in the final analysis of things, we agree, he should take the money ASAP. Jerry would be a fool to offer any more until Dak has won us a ring or two.

We are stupid to offer a mediocre QB that deal!

Then why was Aikman or Romo resigned to big deals? If your criteria for Dak equals mediocre, I can use that same criteria for Aikman/Romo.

Aikman - career 61.5% comp., 165 TD's, 141 INT's
Romo - career 65.3% comp., 248 TD's, 117 INT's
Dak - career 65.8% comp., 97 TD's, 36 INT's

Aikman had a career 61.5 completion %. Was he mediocre? Almost as many INT's as TD's.

It was a different game. Almost any decent QB has better numbers today than the elite QBs did in the 90s.

I take a QB with Aikman’s numbers if 3 SBs and 4 NFC Championship appearances are included.

You can't give the world to a QB that isn't in top tier of league. Jerry must not cave in to this.

I've been watching a lot of Herbert lately.

He's a gamble worth taking.

He makes a lot of throws most guys just can't make.. The downfield accuracy needs to be better but overall the decision making is good, he processes things quickly, and the arm talent + mobility are just off the charts.

I hate that there just isn't much of him working under center.
Mahomes didn't have under the center tape either.

LOL. I followed Aikmans career. He was not accurate. Almost as many INT's as TD's for his career.
Int don't tell the full story, Aikman played in a timing based offense the majority of his career, that means the WR was suppose to be at a certain spot at a certain time.

He made those decisions to throw or not throw. He also had an elite defense that got turnovers which resulted in good field position for his offense, unlike Dak.

If Herbert gets past 6 we need to start calling teams to get up there and get him.

Bet on that talent with supposedly better coaching and set your team up for the next 4 or 5 years for a Superbowl run.

And no doubt if Herbert as a rookie won rookie of the year, went to the pro bowl and the team went 13-3 and was the #1 seed in the NFL you would be declaring him the next Tom Brady.

Oh boy another Prescott thread to rehash the same things over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over.
.

Yep, this is the 4th thread of the tep 5 threads that is about Dak and the new offer and whether he should sign it or not. Yet nothing gets merged.
