It looks like a failed attempt at an XFL franchise’s marketing campaign. So they cut a deal at below cost to the Rams to take the overhead. Even though they seemed well received by Chargers fans in the same demographic. Ultimately they thought it matched up best with the LA Rams Super Bowl 53 Champions t-shirts too.

Actually, I'm not sure what's worse:

A) Someone had the balls to unveil that horrible logo in a boardroom.

B) Everyone else in the room looked at it and agreed that it was a good idea.​
