I think they should look to extend him now. I think with a competent system in place he's gonna blow up. Richard was a cluster and had a whole defense regress. Every single starter regressed from the yr before. Too many moving parts not moving together

Agreed. Woods was an absolute ballhawk at Louisiana Tech and I can't wait to see a new defensive scheme let him be that as a Cowboy.

Traded him to the Chiefs for guard/tackle Parker Ehinger. Ehinger hurt his knee his first week in Dallas and never played a down for the team.
Yep, another example of FO brilliance, and player evaluation. They could use a good cheap talent like Ward at CB right now.

Need DAL to sign or draft a FS, Woods doesn't deserve to be given a free strarting spot.

I agree. Though the Cowboys were hurting for o-line depth at the time, Ward was clearly proving himself in camp and the preseason.

However, Woods is a very good player. If Dallas drafts a new FS, Woods would be excellent in sub packages. He can even play corner in the nickel.

Lol, it seems like just yesterday so many fans were crowning Richard the next HC and talking about how great he was. Typical over reaction.

...and to think we traded away Ward

I liked him and wanted to keep him, but I understood that we were in need of OL at the time and you don't get something for nothing. Based on how the OL turned out, it was a poor move for us.

His system is beneficial to a certain type of corner. However, it is also easy to take advantage of because how he has the corners play creates gaps that are almost impossible to close for the safeties and linebackers.
