They don’t care, they just want Dak to be highest paid player.
Not that we don't care we are just smart enough to know if we do miss the playoffs its not because of Dak's contract lol. Its gonna be simply because they suck. They've sucked for 25 years now......that predates both Romo and Dak. But you guys want to make them the scapegoat.

The problem is you’re evaluating QBs based on their situation and not their individual ability..

Put Dak in Miami and Tannehill and Dallas and you’d have a bunch of Tannehill fans on this forum and people saying Dak isn’t nearly as good.

The truth is they are about the same.

You speak the truth.

I would rate Tannehill higher as he can actually read a defensive coverage, change the protection/plays at the line of scrimmage.

When I think of Prescott having to do the same I just think Adrian Jarrell Clayborn...

Goes to show your knowledge of the game. Adrian Clayburn's dominance had nothing to do with reading a defense. You guys constantly tell on yourselves.

Potentially good news for us.

If Prescott is as delusional about his ability as it appears then hopefully there's no chance of a long term deal if he considers himself on another level to Ryan Tannehill.

Pro Bowl (2019)
NFL passer rating leader (2019)
NFL Comeback Player of the Year (2019)

Passer rating is skewed toward completion percentage and Tannehill was near the bottom in passing attempts for a starting QB. In QBR he was 9th and Henry was a factor in that because defenses had to gear toward him.

Idk if that’ll get it done - I think he’ll get $37-$38/m a year
Won’t surprise me. Watch us pay that and mahomes signs a team friendly deal for 35 a year. Lol. This whole deal has taken so long it could cause bad blood on one or both sides. But I thought that about the Romo deal also. Once it gets done both sides may put it behind them. Until we can’t keep a team around him.

Well you can personally allow the same player to hit and sack you six times or, even allowing for the inept coaching, change the protection yourself after say...the second time it happened! Perhaps I don't know...utilise a tight end to contain/chip the edge etc.

Because his teams sucked. Eagles had no business being in the Super Bowl the year they made it. That was acredit to Andy Reid. Not taking anything away from Mahomes but its a package deal. In order for Mahomes to work you need Andy Reid and vice versa.

A team doesn’t make it to three straight NFC title games if they suck. He had some very good teams in Philly with some talented rosters but he had a QB in Donovan McNabb who couldn’t get it done in big games. Alex Smith certainly wasn’t the answer in KC which is why he moved on from him. You are taking something away from Mahomes he’s special! Andy Reid would still be looking for his first Super Bowl win without him.

4/142 with 110 guaranteed. Buckle in for that as the minimum deal Dak is going to get.

Dak is going to get paid and this deal definitely helps his case.

When you think of Tony Romo do you think of him fumbling the FG hold against the Seahawks to lose a playoff game?

And why did it take Tannehill 7 years to learn to read defenses? And if he does it so well, why does he throw the ball less than almost any other QB in the NFL?

They literally changed protection and Chaz Green still played bad. You can't just change coverage and protection and think that's going to help incompetence. They even went as far as to give Chaz Green help and he still got done in. That was the Cowboys fault for not even having a capable swing tackle but most importantly they sat there and watched Dak who at the time was a 2nd year pro get killed. How you can blame him for that is odd to me.

I disagree about individual ability. He has an arm and had the ability to run. Not doubting that. But his mental ability to read a game and adjust, consistently over a year isn't there.
Talking about physical talent, sure. Both are close there but that's where it ends IMO.
Pocket presence he was terrible at. He would force passes leading to INTs or just flat out misread the defense. He was handed the spot from day 1, and was a bad leader. Not even talking about the incident with the practice squad player.

Sure, as I posted earlier, maybe if he played for a better run team, maybe the opinion of him would change. I was hoping 2016 was going to be a new Tannehill but it never came to fruition.

I don't dislike or love either player, but I can't agree they are close to the same player.

Tennessee got a better QB for quite a bit less than we're likely to pay ours...

Good for them, bad for us.

This is laughable. He isn’t in the same league as Dak.

just make Dak the highest paid QB and get it over with. In 3 years it will seem like a good deal. The Cap is going to go up massively before next season.

McNabb's best receiver was a running back. Do you not remember what it was like prior to TO getting there? Todd Stinkston? James Trash? Fred Ex?

I can show you a list of teams who have won the Super Bowl with bad quarterback play. I can show you a list of teams who have lost with great quarterback play. Show me a team who has won a Super Bowl with a bad head coach?
