What are we doing?

We should’ve drafted Jalen Ramsey over Zeke. RBs are significantly easier to find and replace. Both players can be considered “special” but everyone knows it’s harder to find a “special” CB than it is to find a special RB.

that year we could’ve grabbed Derrick Henry I the second. I know this has been brought up here before but I had to mention it because it’s another example of our poor decision making.

We paid Zeke 2 years early as well as Jaylon Smith. Why??
Why not hold off on paying zeke, if he sits he sits. We’ve been investing in Oline for several years now. Draft or trade for a cheap alternative to Zeke until you’re ready to pay him. Prioritize QB first

we just paid to extend cooper rush. Something like $2 million. We could’ve added that $2 mill to what Dak is asking for and then drafted a backup QB. We could then pay Amari and franchise Byron.

this would keep all of our core players and allow us to build thru the draft. But instead we are now losing our best CB (for nothing in return), allowing Daks asking price to continue to rise, and we’re paying Amari because we had too.

seems like everything we’re doing is assbackwards

First have you ever heard of the old saying that hindsight is 20/20? You seem to think being a GM it's so easy and surely by now some NFL team would have found you.

Now lets look at Henry. Yes he finally had a good year last season but couldn't even beat out Demarco Murray for 2 years to be the starter. In fact it wasn't until last season that he finally got the starter job. 1 out of 4 years as a starter.

When you get to be a GM for some team then I'll give your opinions more weight.

Oh come on..

A ton of people thought drafting a RB that high was a bad move and then giving him a contract 2 years before the deal was up wasn't the best move either.

They deserve criticism for not properly building their team. This is common sense stuff.

On an unrelated note...the old quincy image still manages to crack me up...whether it is with Wade or Jason's head on it or not, but those are even funnier because nobody bothers photoshopping the hands to match

I’ll cop to ‘stealing’ it from elsewhere. Just to tweak the last few remaining holdouts.

Here's what's funny about what you just said. Not ha ha funny, but all of you that are now playing wannabe GM's and saying it was a mistake drafting Elliott weren't yelling that at the top of your lungs when as a rookie led all backs in rushing and doing that 2 out of his first 3 seasons.

Jerry just comitted to giving Dak 33M this year on the tag, but he wants more cuz he thinks he's done something great and hasn't....expect a long hold out.
Our best CB is about to clean out his locker cuz he never gets a takeaway and apparently it's contagious cuz our entire secondary has no playmakers.
There's an excellent class of WR's in the 2020 draft, so signing our best WR apparently seems to be less of a priority...bye Cooper and the 2019 1st round pick we gave for you.
Our best pash rusher is about to walk also, but apparently the new CBA will bring Gregory back and his 6 sacks...yay.

Other than that we're in great shape folks!

And if Ramsey was a Cowboy who then made contract demands that lead to a trade or a huge overpayment, the same fans would be criticizing the team for not drafting Elliot.

His rookie year was fun.. We all enjoyed it.. It’s still stupid to spend major resources on that position.

2016 had no playoff success.. As fun as it was it amounted to nothing but a nice regular season.

What is the goal here? What Super Bowl teams invest big dollars into tailbacks?

This aint the 90s anymore..

Come take a seat in the Draft Zone and you will see people say these things.. This isn’t a hindsight thing to say for A LOT of us on here.

I’m still struggling to remember when this FO has had their act together the last 25 years in a meaningful way that has translated into anything other than record profits for the Jones family. I would feel better if I had any confidence these guys are capable of doing something brilliant regarding the actual product on the field. Why should we have any confidence in the Jones boys?

So based on your logic, if I don’t like a draft pick, I shouldn’t cheer for him when he does well?
Because Ramsey was doing great things at the same time, and lock down CB always seemed more attractive to me. But I still cheered on Zeke.

You realize Free Agency hasn't officially started, right?

You realize that the legal tampering period has already started, right?

After NFL players voted to ratify the new collective bargaining agreement Saturday, the legal tampering period of free agency begins Monday at noon ET with offseason action set to move at a rapid pace. Over the next 48 hours, several teams will come to agreements with high-profile acquisitions before the deals become official March 18.

It's hard to keep track of these things when you are spending much of your time and energy here defending everything the franchise does.

You realize the offers aren't official until Wednesday, right?

You realize that this is a negotiating move and Dallas can match any offer, right?

First of all, yes, Dallas can match any offer as long as Cooper allows them to. It's up to Cooper to allow Dallas to match. Dallas has no legal remedy at this point if Cooper gets a big offer. Cooper can simply take that offer and give Dallas the finger.

Two, I hope when you say negotiating move you mean from the Cooper side. Because if the Cowboys let him get to FA to set the market of his contract, that was kind of stupid.

If you whine about who was drafted in previous years YES IT IS hindsight. I don't go to the draft zone because all that are there are wannabe GM's speculating on future drafts or whining about past drafts using their hindsight to do it.

No what I'm saying is while that player was doing good things all the people with their now hindsight weren't screaming what a bad draft pick Elliott was but now with their hindsight they are playing wannabe GM's and saying the Cowboys should have drafted this player or that player. In other words some are being large hypocrites.
