Money is big, but it shouldn't be the biggest factor. I would want to win.
It depends on how much of a discrepancy there is between what a lower level team and a higher level team offer, and obviously quality of life matters. As important as winning is, a player's family has to come first.

Besides, not everyone can got to a top team.

Wow, is that ever an overpayment.

Is anyone really going to criticize the Cowboys as cheapskates for not paying this insane number?
It makes you wonder how much Dak would get on the open market. I am telling you the exclusive tag is a bargain.

I think its the opposite, I think Kris Richard was a huge part of Byron's play. I can easily see his play dropping off and its already a lock that he won't justify being the highest paid CB. Tons of money, warm weather and Cuban girls are great, but purely on performance he is in trouble.
You think? Idk I think he could have been better if was at corner for years and better coaching staff. You’re definitely right he’s gonna fall off with dolphins it’s going to be hard to justify this contract.

If they don't sign Amari at this point......... LOL.

At least Jones didn't land in Philly.

Some of this is typical Cowboys homerism though......... because we didn't bring him back, he's clearly overpaid and not very good. But if we had signed Jones to an extension those same people would be praising the FO for bring back a key veteran.

good for byron getting paid and it is a loss for the cowboys but im ok with him walking for that kind of money.

free agency is awful anway, u will almost always have to overpay and for every stephon gilmore there are probably 25 albert haynesworths.

Can't see it. He doesn't fit the profile of a Jones' FA signing: young and cheap.

Other than trying to get Cooper and maybe Quinn signed, there is zero chance we will be active this first week. I expect we'll start getting linked to 2nd and 3rd tier guys this weekend and next week.

This franchise just loves their bargain bin shopping. Stupid is as stupid does, I guess.

No worries our new extension signing of Blake Jarwin will play two ways replacing Byron Jones.

He fits right in. Just kind of a half *** motor sunshine type of dude. Run away from tacklers, cover once in a while etc.
Imagine saying Jones covers once in a while and being an active enough fan of the Cowboys to sign up on a fan forum.

This is a certain kind of special.

Hope all of you enjoyed us trading Zeke for Jones. Height of stupidity by this FO.

I say the Cowboys FO did the right move. 17 million for Bryon Jones, is a huge overpay. I think many would agree, solid starter, but far from an elite one. He is the highest paid at the position.
