Well, they could of restructured Zekes base from 6.8 mil to 1 mil. And iirc after spreading out the 5.8mil saved by restructuring, converted into a bonus, over 6 years the total cap savings would be 4.83mil. Might be off on that though.

Restructure candidates
DeMarcus Lawrence - $11.9m
Zack Martin - $8m
Tyron Smith - $6.7m
Travis Frederick - $4.5m
Ezekiel Elliot - $4.7m
La’el Collins - $4.4m
Jaylon Smith - $3.5m

I’m not sure where @ksg811 got his info but I assume it was a reliable source.

It's interesting in that while it frees up room, they have to give those players a check now for converting it into a signing bonus.
So, it cost Jerry up front instead of spreading it over the 16 games.

Hopefully, it means they are after more fish.

Not really, over 20 players from the 53 man roster hit the open market today... so far we’ve signed Cooper, Jarwin, and tagged Dak. There’s A LOT of holes to fill and not a lot of cap room to fill them.

Dak’s whole franchise tag money (roughly $33m) counts towards the cap this year, so that handicaps us.
