That’s crazy money for Cooper . Don’t get the rationale . The Defense needs major plugs and the front office is paying a WR who disappears in crucial games ? The caving in seems to have started , and the next thing we will hear is Dak signed for 38-40 mil . That is absolutely crazy Jerry ...

Wow.

That's about $2.5 million per game played

Yep -- jeez, he didn't come cheap but at least, we locked him up. Looks like we'll have Amari for a while and Dak for at least a year. Whew!

That kind of money could have been spent better elsewhere but he is ours now......for better or worse

I don’t think he is worth that but if it is what the market bares.......:banghead:

It was inevitable. The new triplets must be preserved at all costs. For science.

Now it's just a matter of Dak getting his 200m (or whatever) and that should be that.

Man imagine if this inept front office signed him when they trade for him. Could have had him for like 2-3m less per year. With Randall Cobb leaving this deal had to get done

For added context:

“Cooper's contract is one befitting arguably the best receiver in the league. At $20 million per year, Cooper is second among WRs in average annual value to Atlanta's Julio Jones ($22M). His $60 million in guaranteed money is fourth behind Michael Thomas($60.6M), Jones ($64M) and Odell Beckham Jr. ($65M).”

The Cowboys had to pay retail but at least they didn’t reset the market. Cooper is neither the highest paid receiver annually nor in terms of guaranteed money.

I can live with that.

With Randall Cobb getting 9 million a year, this looks like a very good deal. The market is what it is.

I hope we move him around more and more on the offense.
