The Cowboys made a good bet last year with Quinn. Got him for a relatively low draft pick. I would not have paid to keep him though. It does weaken us at DE now though, but you need to be able to move on and make good player decisions all the time to remain competitive.

DT is my biggest need on the roster by a good margin. Although DT, DE, LB, Safety and CB could all use an infuse of talent.

Quinn wanted a big payday. He garnered much more than most of us thought he would get. Those type of players are hard to find.

Quinn loss is big.. That guy lived in the QB's lap.

I can't believe we lost Quinn and Jones.

Good thing we have a QB that can overcome things like this.
Two dudes on a defense that couldn’t hold a sneeze in

I’ll take the comp picks and let other teams over pay for dudes

It's fun being the smart team making good decisions..

It's always at it's most fun around January when other teams are playing in the post season and we can look at all of our smart deal we made.

Last years Jerry would of signed Cobb, Quinn and B. Jones. Lets come to grips with the fact that there is a new Sheriff in town named BIG Mike McCarthy and he is building his team the proper way and getting lots of new players in here to buy in from the get go. There is lots of casting out of demons that has to be done to change the mindset of inconsistency of this team. It makes sense Jerry wants to keep Dak and Amari Cooper, those guys are legit and young, but some of these other guys needed to go collect their paychecks and give 10% effort somewhere else.

Rented Quinn, Cobb, and Bennett and still finished 8-8 to miss the playoffs. Damn this team sucks!

Of course it's a hole.

But it's a hole on March 17th.

Let's see if there's a hole at the start of the season... Whenever that is.
Need DE, 2 DT, 2 LB, 1 CB, at least one safety (to play next to Heath)

And that's just starters. I'm sure we have the most expensive offense in the NFL by far at this point, I just cant see the defense being higher than 25 next season in run or pass defense unless we hit home runs on draft picks. And this offense cannot win with a defense in worse shape than we've had over the last 4 years.

That's all these a-hole players are serious about......trying to make as much money as possible no matter with which team. There is no more team loyalty anymore.

I knew it was a joke when writers were saying the past several weeks how Cobb, Quinn and several other Cowboys free agents were serious about wanting to stay in Dallas. YEAH RIGHT!!!

Even when I became a fan in 1994, I remember team loyalty, I miss it.

This can't come as a surprise - the Cowboys had 25 free agents off of last year's roster. That's an insane number, and a lot of guys were due to leave as a result of the paydays guys like Prescott and Cooper have gotten or will get.

This will set up a lot of one year type of deals, and the potential for a number of UDFAs making the team. This team will be one of the youngest in the league this upcoming season. It remains to be seen the depth of talent, though.

Progress stopper for Armstrong

Actually, Quinn was a placeholder for Gregory because we knew that he would be suspended all last season. I have no doubt while Dallas wanted Quinn back at a discount that having Gregory returning has always been the team's trump card. I think it's the same at corner. The staff feels both Lewis and Awuzie can be starters so the team wasn't going to pay top dollar for Jones.

I'd love to be proven wrong on both accounts, but I don't think I will be. Best we can hope for likely is some cheap vet depth at both spots.

Trying to project where this defense is going to rank on March 17th... Is a face-palmer.

Jones and Quinn were low effort players? K

Don't even start with Dak.

This.

Quinn was "cheap" depth last season.

Not really, considering our draft history on defense. Project what we have as of now. We can adjust as we bring in players. No one is saying we cant get better.
