That's been the case for years. They seem to have forgotten the 90s SB teams had a top 10 defense.

Try to outscore everybody and when you lose 51-48 just blame the QB. :muttley:
Has a dak led team ever put up 50?

yeah..a good GM shouldn't really do that. Players typically aren't very good evaluators. Troy craped the bed with that one.Jerry is ultimately responsible.John Elway hasn't exactly lit the world on fire in Denver with his evaluations.
Don't forget Deion telling Jerry Joey Galloway was the only WR in the NFL he feared. Which led to us giving up 2 #1s for Galloway. It is laughable the people that give Jerry credit for the 3 trophies. Since Jimmy Johson and his influence has left the building...this has been one big **it show. And the results reflect this!

Our Triplets on offense will be expected to carry the team despite whatever defense we can field.

Jerry and Son have clearly laid out their priority and objective along with hiring an offensive minded HC and retaining our OC.
The draft is still to come. Being set up on offense can mean a focus in defense in the draft. There also could still be a free agent or two signed. I suspect Quinn is still in the picture.

I wouldn't be too quick to pull the trigger on that take. FA technically hasn't even started yet and then there's the draft.

No it isn’t. Garret had nothing to do with the way the roster was built and how to spend the resources on it. If JJ is paying too much (or over-valuing) his offense, and not enough for his defense...the fault begins and ends there
Not accurate

Blame the ex-coach blame the ex-coach...play a new record already man.
No. This board does not grasp how terrible he was at putting players in position to win games.

His philosophy is the root cause for almost every problem on this team last year.

And if he's not getting blamed for assembling the roster, WHAT DID HE DO?

You’re wrong because Washington reportedly offered Cooper $22M per season. You have to pay receivers. Cooper has been terrific since he’s been here and he and Dak have worked well together. There were some issues with him not showing up on the road but he’s had a couple of very solid seasons for us and we couldn’t afford to lose him, especially after losing Cobb. As for the Rams offense in 2018 they lost Cooper Kupp and Todd Gurley wasn’t healthy. Kupp was their number one receiver. That offense wasn’t the same when they faced New England in the SB. Not being able to produce any offense cost them that game.

We’re a long way from having a great defensive team so we need to hang onto our offensive weapons. Our playmakers are all on offense. Our triplets on offense were the main reason we won those three Super Bowls in the 90s. Once we lost Jay Novacek and Michael Irvin those teams began to decline. You’re not going win games if you can’t score. Yes we need defense, that’s our weak link and we’re going to have to bank on the draft to try and fix it.
The history of the NFL proves my point. Great defenses consistently beat great offenses. We should be putting half our resources into our D.

Also, Amari is physically gifted BUT he disappeared in all our big games.

We are not learning from the history of the NFL, regarding the importance of defense, and we are not even learning from our history last year with Amari. He comes up small in big games!

it’s fine if the whole organization pulls their head out their butt and starts drafting a lot better...and also stops trading away their high picks

I dont think so.

The defense we had didnt get it done. With a new DC and assistant coaches we all had to expect a revise of it.

Lets wait what FA and especially the draft will bring. I am expecting us to draft at least 3 defensive players in the first 4 rounds.

History has also proven that offensive playmakers win Super Bowls. A lot more Super Bowl MVPs have come on offense. We’ve put a lot of resources into defense over the years and it never improves. We certainly have to keep trying but all our playmakers are on offense and we have to keep them. You can’t just look at league history you have to look at the history of your organization and the Cowboys championship teams always had great offensive talent at the skill positions. We’ve had Hall of Fame QBs, RBs and WRs. Those teams also had real solid defenses and we have to figure out a way to get balance between the offense and the defense. We have to have offense to offset our defensive deficiencies. We just can’t seem to figure it out defensively so we have to keep our offense strong. We can’t rely on our defense to win games. We have to figure out a way to get turnovers. Defense will be a priority in the draft.

Defense certainly didn’t get it done in this past Super Bowl did it? There’s a reason QB and WR money keeps going up. The game keeps changing and it’s becoming harder to win with defense because of all the rule changes. Most of the rule changes favor the offense.

Yep.

MM was brought here to get DAK and Jerrah another Lombardi.

No mysteries there.

We can not change what we are. Jerrah wants ticket and jersey sales. Defense is not flashy enough.

So 2020 is a defensive year for finding talent, but it is all secondary to Raz maytazz and endzone celebrations.

Nothing changes. We have to deal with it.
