Although Clowney is more talented, I agree with you. Can't put that much money into an oft-injured player like Clowney.

Give me Dante Fowler / Vic Beasley, Sean Lee, Karl Joseph and Chris Harris or Desmond Trufant. All would cost a little more than Clowney

Defensive Tackle
Right Defensive End

Clowney takes a HUGE Chunk and only eliminates one need

Perhaps, but you have to consider that Clowney's production was much higher (I think), so that may justify a higher price tag.

But to SeanLee50's point, it is pretty unrealistic to sink that much money into 2 defensive ends (didn't we make Demarcus Lawrence the highest paid D-Lineman last year?).

Clowney had a career low 3 sacks last season. Would rather have Quinn.

While I agree that Clowney won’t be a Cowboy I don’t think the two situations are comparable. Clowney is a game changer on defense while Quinn is a good rotational guy.

Clowney would improve the defensive front immensely while retaining Quinn would just be treading water.
