I guess he will be the backup because Waller is a beast but he probably signed because the Raiders will use a lot of 2 TE sets.

You are being melodramatic. Witten is an all time Cowboy, no one hates him. I think people just hate he stops progress of younger players. I was OK he came back last year but he was slow and showed his age completely. It is what it is.

I can only speak for myself but i have been calling out Witten as a progress stopper for years now. I wish him well and appreciate his time but pragmatism is what leads to success.

…..somebody had to do it. Stifled TE development for years.....it was time. Apparently, Witt wants to be carried off the field.

Gruden felt guilty taking that coaching gig and opening up that spot for Witten to move in there and embarrass himself.

Well Im really happy about that. Dez Bryant was a Beast as a receiver and Deserves that accolade. Its too bad Beaseley is gone before the coaching change. We coulda won something if we wouldnt have designated all those passing snaps to #82 and gave other players w more upside some opportunities

I seem to recall Gruden signing every old dude he could when he was with the Raiders before.

Those old Gruden Raider teams were great because you could trade all of them in Madden for high picks because they would all retire the next year anyway.
