Yes, because these $7m quality players just don't really exist, especially on defense. You can occasionally hit on a cheap vet, at that range, but it's unlikely without term, and that's a pretty substantial risk.

we don't have the cap to devote to another edge guy, so it hinders us from signing a DT ..a progress stopper...CAPWISE

Agree with you that it will take some significant cap room, but as far as impact, I'd take him over the 3 or 4 JAGS we are about to sign and count on to play significant snaps on the defensive line.
