McCarthy must have a very good plan

With who we've let go and the restructuring of some key players, McCarthy must have a great plan in mind on how he's gonna put this team together. Is he planning for this year to make a run or is he looking at next year?

I think hes putting together a plan to make a run in a couple years but be competitive at the same time. I dont see Dallas in win now mode like most people think. He got a 5 year contract for a reason.

He then looked at the defense and said “these guys suck, it needs blown up and rebuilt”

There is no next year. It's always this year. The entire staff has poured over all the information they can find about the roster. They know crystal clear who they want and who they don't. And they are not going to overpay for talent.

Case in point - Randall Cobb. We already know McCarthy likes to draft WR's on day 2. It seems pretty clear the Cowboys think they can draft a WR this year (deep pool of talent) who can replace Cobb so why overpay for Cobb when they can have the rookie considerably cheaper?

looks like 2 year window to make deep run. If this team falls flat Cooper will be released after year 2 and McCarthy is likely gone. Jones want results now and everything they are doing is pointing to pivot move if this doesn't take off.

Kinda why I think its worth looking at what they can get for Tyron now. A second round pick would be great. We need to get younger and healthier on the Oline.

Then they're delusional, as they've been for some time. They had an 8-8 team and it now has less talent. I don't know what grand plan they're going to put together on defense when they're putting so much of the cap on offense (again). Same approach, new coach.

People are convincing themselves that McCarthy is God's gift to coaching who is going to work miracles. Hope isn't a strategy.

Forget all of this talk of a 2-5 year window. We have the offense to make a deep run. Just need to let this first wave of free agency filter through. There are quality players on defense who can help us plug some holes.

MM and his offense will be just fine. The bigger question is what the heck is Mike Nolan going to do with the defense b/c its not looking good personnel wise. ........

The defense needed to be revamped and offensively we have not lost anything that cannot be replaced in the draft.

Give them 3 years. Unless we dont come close to the expanded playoffs.
