What could we get if we traded Tyron?

Jerry doesn't believe in the Belichick philosophy which is don't pay anybody and get rid of players a year early than a year late. Obviously with predictable results.

If Dak hadn't crashed into Tyrons ankles this would of been the most healthy season he had since 2016. People also don't realize

1. Tyron was playing at an all-pro level up until the Dak collision and was rated as the #1 best player in the 2019 training camp

2. Most of his penalties occured in his first 2 games back when they where trying to rush him back (eagles/giants game). Leno, Bakhirati, Lewan, Villanueva, Whitworth, Tunsil, Penn are franchise pro bowl caliber LT's and literally all of them had more penalties than him and everyone except Bakhirati was graded worst than him

3. Once he was actually healed he had 1 holding penalty TOTAL in the last 7 starts of the year.........

I'm not saying we shouldn't look towards the future if the right oppurtunity arises but reality is the "he's breaking down", "he's no longer elite", and "he gets way to many penalties" are 3 fan narratives that I hear often and LITERALLY NONE of them are correct

There's no freaking way where trading a pro bowl LT that only has a 10 million dollar base pay rate (that's a steal)

I personally think if there is a top flight LT in the draft available at our #1 pick...Id take him. ****. I am all about the Oline. I love Tyron but the guy has neck issues. I pray he lasts a couple more years but I kind of doubt it.

Board meltdown when Jones, Quinn, and Cobb leave. Same board, lets trade another one of our best players.

An injured Prescott?
Dak Prescotts best attribute is his physical nature, solid, well built, can sustain a hit.
Trade his LT for some serious draft stock, Pay Dak his 40m, and let him role right side and hand off to Zeke all season.

I mean, we know Tyron will break down eventually.

Tyron turned 29 in December of last season. So he's not old on paper. But he was only 20 when we drafted him. He's played 131 games, which is some fair wear and tear.

He's missed 3 starts per year for 4 straight seasons at this point (meaning he misses 21% to 29% of every season now like clockwork), and we all know he's been hobbled or hurting for plenty of the starts where he played less effectively through his injury stuff.

His holding penalties have gone up late in his career. His first 5 seasons, he averaged 2.2 holding penalties per season (and this was back when he was playing 16 games a year). The last 4 years, his holding penalties are up to an average of 5.25 per season even though he missed almost a month of action in each of those 4 seasons. Is his technique getting worse as he ages? Is he less limber and flexible and quick, and he's holding to compensate? I dunno, but it's not a good sign.

When you combine the trend of him missing time (and ask ourselves is that likely to go away or get worse as he ages and accumulates more injuries?) and him resorting to holding more often, it makes me worry.

How long before missing 3 games a year turns into him missing half the season or more, when we're paying him an amount that he really needs to be giving us whole seasons to make it worthwhile.

I dont think he brings back much in a trade.

You're not getting a high pick this year from a rebuilding team, especially with four very highly rated LTs on the board.

Smith is worth maybe a 2021 2nd from a team that's trying to win....as Dallas ought to be.

In other words, he is a guy who is worth much more to his current team than the draft stock that can be had for him.

Wanna try this with someone?? Maybe find some sucker who thinks tackle stats and Pro Bowl means something and try to get multiple picks for #54.

If this was for Zeke maybe I could get on board.
