Good bridge player.
That's why I don't like bargain shopping. Alot of times you can get solid mid level veterans for not much money and upgrade postions on your team all while 1. Not having long term cap implications and 2. Giving your draft picks time to develop/rotate versus just throwing them to the wolfs aka connor williams rookie season and praying that they can do a decent enough job

Last year they could of upgraded both DT spots along with safety for barely above 10 million dollars........ (instead they got bargin bin players like convington and george Iloka and there defense didn't improve).

EDIT: Correction, less than 8 million since if they had signed 2 DT's they would of spend the 2nd rounder on Thornhill.......

This is why you don't screw around in free agency, it's messes up the draft as well

Definitely a very fair deal for both sides imo, I think the Cowboys are actively trying to sign a guy like DE-Everson Griffen and then they’ll cut Crawford
man...if they land a guy like Griffin...wow. I think Cameron Wake is available tho. I know hes like 38, but I would love to take a flyer on him for a year. Then he could be a bridge player and buys us time to develop a guy.

Yes, I know we have Gregory...but signing Wake would be beneficial as well.

McCoy is a beast still inside. A MONSTER that at times, will require double teams. THIS IS HUGE FOR GUYS LIKE TANK. You can't ignore that. This signing was huge on many levels. Think about how this will help our linebackers and db's...

The core crust of the league has certainly shifted.

Would love to see 3-4 more contracts in that range at positions of need. Not gonna get CB for that though....

I wonder if Dallas would've signed Byron had they known Chicago was going to swoop in and be stupid with Quinn.

Solid work by the team here. I don't think he's a huge difference maker anymore, but he's still a big body and very smart with vet savvy. Maybe he can light a fire under Hill.

Wonder how much cheaper than Collins he is. McCoy isn't a dynamic player anymore, but still solid. Think this is a good price for him.
