Could he sign a 1 yr deal with Dallas?

Look what Lawrence did for Quinn. Take a generous 12mil deal and go into FA next yr and cash in. Bet on yourself and prove your worth it. Quinn was a afterthought in Miami before the guy on the other side of Dallas' DL took all the attention and gave him new life on his career. He could do the same for Clowney IMO

I would offer him a 1 year 15 million contract. See what happens. He is not the pass rusher Quinn is but he is devastating against the run and a better all around end.

I could see that, thats about the area of the franchise tag for DEs. Quinn wasnt thought of as a double digit sack guy anymore either. Lawrence freed up alot of space for him with team focusing on his side. Quinn should write him a check. A DL on third downs of Lawrence, crawford, mccoy and clowney would be a nightmare for teams. Add in Gregory and say rookies like Elliot and Weaver. This DL core would be downright dominant.

Latin, don’t get our hopes up. Fisher is adamant that the Cowboys would be interested if his price goes way down. Plus I think we want to get that high comp pick for Byron. When are you doing a updated draft?

Lol. In Maryland you cannot find toilet paper. People are crazy. What do you think of Anthony Weaver Boise State defensive end?

Didnt McCarthy say he wanted a lot of pass rushers? So far we have just 1 we can count on. I hope this starts to change here shortly.

He looks like the next demarcus Lawrence. People can say he doesnt have the bend and try and minimize his game. But all you gotta do is look at his tape. The guy is very quick off the snap and never stops. He dominated his comp. He's a natural strong side rusher, wether thats a 4-3 or a 3-4. He could've had more sacks but BSU used him in drop coverage alot.

Clowney views himself as a dominant player, but his literal play on the field doesn’t match up.

Injury prone and capable of huge highlight plays, but disappears for long stretches and has never even had double digit sacks in a season.

He wants $20+mill/yr, and his production warrants about half that

Right now it looks like the Seahags are his only suitor. But even them arent giving him 20mil. They didnt even want to give him the tag figure. HE would have the exposure in Dallas. This is the deal that makes so much sense for both team and player.

He's gonna a cost big money- and I'd still do it if we can get Dak signed here soon. That tag is hamstringing us right now.
Clownry opposite Lawrence - McCoy and Kinlaw in the middle - damm !

Clowney is going to cost some money but wont even sniff what hes asking for. And probably not even what the franchise tag is paying DEs. The guy has a career high of 9.5 sacks and only had 3 sacks last yr. But he get alot of pressure and plays the run. Going back to SEA does him no good because he wa there last yr and it didnt work out. Not a good fit.

The Cowboys need to be looking for the next bargain like they did when they found Quinn. Signing Clowney is a big splash but there are several areas of need. Adding just one player won't help address those other needs. Find another Quinn that is hungry and who will out perform his contract at each position of need. That's what will really help the Cowboys field a better team.

Clowney shouldn't need a new life on his career. We saw what he could do when he had help on the other side of the line. He had JJ Watt in his prime over there for crying out loud drawing all the attention!

Who is the one pass rusher? Just curious cause Quinn is gone and if you're talking about Lawrence.............I don't know what to expect.

I don't like clowneys injury history, and I also don't trust DLAW. I understand that he was double teamed, but surely half way through the season teams adjusted that because of Quinn wreaking havoc right? I'd love to trade DLaw to the jags and work out a long-term deal for Ngakoue who doesn't run his mouth and is not happy in Jacksonville.

I actually think that could happen with Clowney. I don't think he is going to get the interest he wants amd his price is going to drop. He will probably end up with a 1 year prove it deal somewhere. Dont know that that will be here. Actually think the possibility of him in Dallas is very remote. Signing Clowney will will likely cancel out one of our 3rd round comps. I dont think Dallas will want to do that. But I think that is the type of situation he will find himself in

DLaw is pretty much untradrable right now. You will eat way too much dead cap
