Howie is 'making magic' right now, because he's spending recklessly and pushing it off until 'next year' repeatedly. But when you look at their current roster, dead money, and resources, the big picture becomes more clear.

He's mortgaging the future for the present, borrowing from Peter to pay Paul.

Take a look at their one specific cancer - Alshon Jeffrey. Everybody knows he hates it there and his teammates hate him. He's the guy throwing his QB under the bus and undermining him to the media. And they're totally stuck with him and his contract. Forced to look elsewhere to try to bail them out of it. That's precisely why they were trying to get in on Hopkins. Stuck with Jackson as well and hoping he somehow stays healthy this year. Good luck with that too! But they can't cut or trade either guy because of past sins and the structures of the deals.

Where does Barnett fit in this or have they just wrote him off as a bust? What Bennett do they have at DE?

I have to say though I know the defense underperformed but I’m really shocked they aren’t trying to give Wentz some better receivers.

Yeah I use to wonder how they are paying for these guys but it becomes evident when you see how many bad contracts they have for guys. Feels like the Cowboys use to do this at one point. I’m not a fan of that at all.

Barnett, you are right. And from what I have read they still like Bennett but they have no problems carpet bombing DL. It's a position they spend highly on. I wish we had more urgency and fervor to build a strong DL like they do.

You seem to say this every year and for the last 3 years, they have done better than we have. I mean they were ravaged by injuries last year and still won the division. So at some point, it seems funny that we, of all teams, would be laughing at what they are doing.

In that area, I do as well.

But they seem like the complete opposite of us when it comes to DT, I think theirs is overkill and poor spending, and ours is ignorant and cheap.

After how last season ended, what do we have to "laugh" about?

But now, I will continue to rejoice that Garrett is gone and look forward to how things will turn out when the Eagles and Cowboys face off when we have actual championship-pedigree coaching.
