For those that question what I’m saying do your research and once you narrow it down to you think it is, look up where they do their off-season workouts. After you do that, take a look at my sig/location.

The first player I thought of that played for both coaches is Randall Cobb. I also believe there are few people that won't say that both coaches have different styles and methods of coaching. I also think that there may be a couple of players that didn't like Garrett and that they may embellish things because of their dislike. Out of all the players and coaches that played and coached under Garrett only one has spoken ill of him, besides this alleged statement by Lawrence, and that was Bryant who a month later said the complete opposite thing about Garrett. I think if there was this real wide spread disrespect for Garrett there would be many statements of this type all over the media. Garrett has no hold or control over any player now so there is no reason not to publicly say it if it is true.

I'm not saying that this player didn't say this to you, only that this player may have embellished things a little.
.

He's gone.....you don't have to keep supporting Garrett. I thought this would have ended by now.

Some of you all are giving the OP a hard time....and that's fine. But I truly believe this happens. A lot!!! I live in the DC area. And a lot of former Commanders get their haircut at the same barber shop I go to. The barber shop atmosphere is very relaxed and is home to some of the most passionate football fans alive. The stories they have told about that organization are sometimes dumbfounding.

Also, I have had this happen to me with regards to our very own Dallas Cowboys. I had a sit down direct conversation with one of the most decorated Cowboys players in the organizations history....and he said he cannot believe the money they paid Leonard Davis. He said had they consulted with him he would have told them to NEVER sign that guy.

So I’m not going to disclose any names. I work at a Mercedes-Benz dealership and we had a client come in here and purchase a vehicle. This particular client happened to be a player who played for McCarthy and Garrett. He said he was shocked McCarthy took the offer from the Cowboys. When I asked him why, he said that when he got to the Cowboys D Law told him “don’t worry about Jason Garrett, he’s Jerry’s puppet. Just go straight to Jerry.”

That obviously comes as no shock, but it was interesting to hear somebody confirm the locker rooms perspective of Jason Garrett. I asked him why he was shocked that McCarthy took the job and he told me that McCarthy is the complete opposite of Garrett. He is not a puppet. I asked him if he felt like Jerry relinquished his role as being the puppet master and he said “absolutely. That’s the feel in the locker room because McCarthy has wiped out everybody and Jerry would’ve never allowed Garrett to do that. “.

Sounds like a lot of players are shocked because the feel is that McCarthy is the man and he’s the guy you go to now instead of Jerry Jones.

He left me with something that was pretty exciting as we were finishing our conversation... “ we going to take it this year”. I kind of nodded my head and said something to along the lines of I hope so and then he said “trust me, with McCarthy you’re going to see a whole different team this year and we’re going to be a hard team to beat. It’s going to look and feel like a whole new Cowboys team with MM and the coaches he brought in “!

thanks for this!

There were things that Garrett did and didn't do that I didn't like. I'm not supporting Garrett and don't care what happens to him. I just pointed out that if there was a wide spread disrespect for Garrett by former players and coaches there would by many articles about all the players and coaches who talked about all the disrespect that went on and thus far excluding this unverified comment, there's been one by Bryant who a month later said the complete opposite of that first comment. Back in Landry's day Duane Thomas had a beef with the Cowboys and Landry. The Cowboys for not rewriting his contract and Landry Thomas claimed for making a statement like it's time for Thomas to step up and be a man. Thomas then made critical statements about Landry. He was traded to the patriots but when he wouldn't report then commissioner Pete Rozelle voided the trade Thomas was sent back to the Cowboys. Thomas refused to speak to the media and went so far as not even taking meals with the rest of the team on road trips. After he left the Cowboys he opened up to the media and made several accusations about Landry. Accusations that were never supported by any other player or coach that were ever working under Landry. The point is if one player said something it does not make it true.

That’s pretty much the book on Jerry, and has been since Jimmy was here. I don’t believe that open door policy has changed at all, but I guess we’ll see.

I will say, McCarthy does seem to have some latitude right now. It’s good to see him use it.

Garrett is horrid. Dak is the franchise.

Well the franchise has pretty much been horrid for the past 25 years. I guess by extension that would mean being the franchise doesn't say much at the moment. :p

Edit: No that was not an intentional Dak bash, just a friendly jab based on what was said.

Jerry was backed into a tough spot and couldnt sell Garrett any longer.

I strongly suspect MM comes here, rights the ship to a degree, then Jerry runs him out of town as he did any decent coach he has ever had....or anyone that could ever take the credit from him.

Worst part is if they won Jerry would get his credit, he just couldnt stand to possibly share any of it. None. Zero.

Maybe he realizes how old he is and has changed.

Again....heres to hoping, which is all we have as fans of this team...HOPE.

LOL Garrett was such a puppet that played nice to everyone. He didn't piss anyone off and kept his distance from everyone to not have any kind of coach-to-player relationship with them. Of course if there was an issue they would go to Jerry instead. Not because Garrett's ability to coach. But because Garrett wasn't approachable and Jerry was.

Either you’re totally lying (which you have no reason to) or @Idgit was totally and completely and absolutely duped, hoodwinked, fooled, made a chump of, suckered, and made a total laughing stock of by Garrett for 10 years

hmmmm.... tough choice

Is it just me, or does it anyone else find it weird that DLaw tells a new guy almost word for word the exact thing posters on here have said about Jason Garrett....I mean the exact phrases and everything.

And even more confusing...how is that the feel of the locker room, when i mean you know...None of the players have been to the locker room since the season ended?

Just asking for a friend
I believe this is called 'fake news'.

I just don't see a player saying this stuff outright. It causes alot of misinformation neither the team or the personnalities want to be identified with.

And the reference about "the feeling in the lockeroom" is really too easy to say without more acknowledgement from the source as to who implied this.

Too sketchy to me. But believe it is it fits your narrative.

None of what he said is inconsistent with what we already knew about what goes on in Dallas if you’d been paying any attention at all n

chiefs ravens and now maybe the bucs are SB contenders. We aren't winning a SB this year...we may make some noise, but until we prove ourselves,I don't care what some unnamed player says. It doesn't matter. Too much talk.
