Romo was never surrounded by the talent that Dak has had the luxury of having around him.
LOLLLLL

Mediocre D and the very worst special teams in the league.

Lost to 5 winning teams ( saints , packers , Vikings, packers , patriots , bills , eagles ) and 2 to losing teams bears and jets . So it is actually worse .
Yep cause losing to 5 winning teams is worst than 6 like you claim. Man you guys are fools and at this point most people laugh at you guys got the clowns you are and the idiotic comments y'all make.

Romo would have been very happy with having a mediocre defense. It would have been an upgrade. If you can take the blinders off, you will remember that some of the defenses that he played with were the worst in team history.

And how did the team do in those years? Not well, right?

Then what the hell’s your point? Romo couldn’t win with garbage around him either.

No mention of special teams from you... hmm, probably because Romo was blessed with Dan Bailey for so long. You know, the guy who was the most accurate kicker in NFL history while he was on the Cowboys?

Dak had the NFL’s worst kicker AND worst punter last season. Dallas also had the NFL’s very worst average starting field position.

Funny how you left those things out. Almost like you knew it would crush whatever garbage argument you thought you had.

Dak wins, you lose. Because winners win and losers lose.

He also had 2 HOFers in their prime to pass too. The "garbage around him" excuse is only afforded to Romo.

Didnt Dak get drunk and then get beat up in some parking lot of a college football game?

Every defense from 2006-2009 was better than any defense Dak has had. They got more pressure on the QB, they tackled better, they forced more takeaways giving better field position, they had to deal with more turnovers from the offense, they along with the return team scored more TDs. The worst defense in team history was 2013. You guys try to make it seem like that was his norm and it wasn't.

And don't confuse this with me trying to say those 2006-2009 defenses were great. They weren't but they were damn sure better than the defenses Dak has had. These defenses need to be protected and their averages are smoke and mirrors. They don't do anything particularly well. They've only scored 4 TDs in 4 years, rarely provide good field position for the offense, rarely are put in bad field position by the offense, don't get a lot of pressure on the QB.

Romo 2 - 4 in the playoffs. Those are also facts.

4 pages in and someone has to bring up Romo. He's retired, let the conversation of comparing him end with it. Here are a couple more: Don Meredith 1-3 in the playoffs, Danny White 4-5 in the playoffs, Quincy Carter 0-1 in the playoffs...

My point? Who cares and what does it have to do with the discussion one way or the other?

So you're saying that Romo needed elite talent around him to be successful?
Yes he did and since garbage time is a hot topic now, Romo was the king of garbage time. Dude loved him some prevent defense. He could carve that up with precision a surgeon would be envious of.

Am not talking about jason , and others already fired . They also had big issues besides Dak . Am talking about offensive coaches we still have . He limits their play-calling abilities .
So you’re calling someone who has never had anything to do with a coach being fired a coach killer based on limitations in his game that you feel might lead, someday, to some unspecified coach being terminated?

I think you need to re-evaluate what the term “coach-killer” means. Dwight Howard, Jay Cutler, hell, Lebron

Don’t get me wrong , he made jason look bad as well by choking in many crucial games . It was easy to overlook Dak as a main component of the problem . If Dak was a gamer , or an accurate QB , he would have won at least 2-3 more games . But Dak simply couldn’t , because he is not a difference maker . He is a mediocre bus driver .

Is that why he holds the team record for 4th quarter comebacks?

It is nothing more than a way to get the heat off of the scrub that is playing QB now.

Yeah he can come back against teams with a losing record. Not many were against good teams. If I recall correctly, QBs playing good against bad teams isn't that impressive, is it? Or does that only apply to Dak?

I am not defending Dak or the team not showing up against the Eagles.

I was simply pointing out that your 1-7 against winning teams is nothing but pure BS.

Dak has played here for 4 years. One game or half a season doesnt define him or the team. But of course, your agenda is showing as you nit pick your way around to make a point.

To me, Garrett and Marinelli were huge problems that no longer exist on this team.

Dak a great QB? Dak is just entering his prime. He is a very good QB and getting better. Much more to prove. I would definitely say he is one of the best YOUNG QB's in the NFL.

Somewhere around 9-12 and climbing. I would expect him to settle in around where Romo was. Between 6-10 and will be hard pressed to ever be considered consistently elite.

Anything less then that or more than that is pure BS.
I get that you still have faith in Dak , and we all hoped he would be , and his losing record against winning teams is just a fluke . The problem is that he has many flaws . Those flaws could not be overcome by a mediocre coaching staff last year , and a spotty defense . Jason is gone now , and Dak has brought up all the attention on himself with his inflated salary demands .
