I'd take him to court and sue him for every dime I could get! He has done us like Ratliff did!!!!!! Stolen millions from our cap !! And team!!!!!! Now he can go hang out with Ratliff and the two of them can laugh about how much they stole from Jerry, Crawford belongs there too, as well as a few others.

He earned that money and unlike you he won't be broke loser.

I just can’t agree with this take. The Beard has some really unusual circumstances.

We don’t even know if the new coaching staff didn’t nudge him a little.

He has been a great Cowboy. I’m not gonna have angst toward him bc he drew a short straw health wise.
Be that problem now, he just needed one more off season to be back to all pro. If this was a good faith retirement, then he needs to give back the prorated portion of his bonus for the life of the contract. He got in an advantageous situation , and decided to fold his cards and quit and run instead of do the work. His saying it only takes one play to get hurt for life, when was the last time you seen an offensive lineman break his neck? Pa leeeze! He got paid for a whole year while doing nothing! Kind of reminds me of Zeke's thought processes. The sooner we get rid of these type of guys the better.

He didn't earn anything of the prorated signing bonus he hasn't fulfilled. He also didn't work for the year he was sick!!!! You better go back to the little red school house and take basic math back over. Thirdly, nobody is guaranteed to not be broke in an economy where the dollar has no real value, but is based on a system of credit , within a country that's is trillions of dollars in debt and don't have the gold or silver to back it up , and produces money whenever it feels like it without backing , which weakens everyone's dollars. Go read up on how many former football players are broke jokes. Start with Hollywood Henderson. :). And of course , I didn't earn his money, in case you didn't notice, I wasn't playing center for the cowboys during this time, where you? And why Ur at it with Ur irrational thoughts, why don't you learn to post a credible argument instead of just throwing around ad hominem attacks because you can't support Ur views and have a nasty attitude like the younger generation of millennials are infused with. :)

Doesn't matter, he should be obligated to fulfill the terms of the contract by good faith bargaining. I just lost my respect for Frederick!
Yeah so let's just force any player who gets cancer, or breaks their neck to continue to play football or face getting sued. Pittsburgh should have taken Ryan shazier to the cleaners for not being at middle linebacker the past couple years huh?

I'm not sure if you are a troll or just that terrible of a human being, but your words truly discust me.

I'm probably bordering the lines of the forum rules right now so I'll just end my comments on the subject here.

Technically the Cowboys can cut him as a post June 1st cut and free up half the dead cap. They just have to work the timing out with Frederick. Though they may want to retain his rights.

I
Not talking about removing the cap, just the dead money after a player retires, specifically due to injury.
Understand what Ur saying and like the idea, the problem would be , it could be greatly abused by two sides agreeing to letting player leave a year early and keep his bonus which wouldnt go against the cap. Thus, circumventing the cap. It would be like paying a player more without it counting against the cap. That's a no go. SF. Denver. And a couple other teams would be right back to circumventing the cap tomorrow.

This is becoming a very common thing for guys whove made their money bowing out early. Freddy is 29 and has earned over 40 million in his 6 year career. If managed correctly, freddy and the next 3 generations of his family won't have to work for anyone. The problem for the NFL is the perfect storm of CTE and high player salaries that make it easy for its biggest stars to walk away.

Your lack of civility and using comparisons that aren't the same disgust my sense of intelligence in speaking to you, Ryan shazier got his neck broke, Fred only got sick! It wasn't even a football injury! Got paid for a full year! What company you know that does this? You might as well not answer this since Ur incapable of logical thought processes. He's NOT sick right now, he needs to look at the contract and figure out exactly what the prorated bonus would still be applicable and, give it back, then he needs to apologize for taking so long to decide to retire and pulling a witten on us. Then you need to go to good manners school because U don't have any. :). What do you do for a living ? Hang out with meth heads? They seem to be the ones that talk like you do, or maybe you have spent too much time watching the Jerry springer show? How many offensive lineman do you know that have had a life threatening injury from playing football? Do you know the difference between the different positions played in football?

Dumbest rule in football.
I agree, I think any player who retires or ja injured and then retires should not count against the cap since the team and the player didn't know or plan to get injured.

Both sides know this before playing the sport or signing. Secondly, the player almost always comes out on top , agents know this when structuring contracts. :). Of you sign a contract , you should honor it.

Then teams would sign players to long contracts well past what the player could last just to spread out the cap hits. Then the player could just retire and the money paid to them goes poof. The league can’t let that happen. It’s sucks but Dallas either needs to take the hit or go after the bonus money paid to him.

The dead money is money already paid out so by voiding it, you are in a sense circumventing the cap on the amount players can earn and they will have earned more than the cap.

Both sides know the player can retire as well. It cuts both ways.

Unfortunately, you’re 100% right. Cowboys will be just fine, though.
