McCarthy looking for his BJ Rahi.
only problem with BJ was he let himself get too big, then the laziness set in, and he was done. At one time he was damn good. I think he had 2 really dominating years. After that he had injuries, weight issues then we know the rest. But yes, and lets recall, he did draft him. So I think that's what we can expect again...for MM to draft a guy to put into the mix with the vets. Hes trimming the dead weight if you notice. That why I think Suh isn't happening. Poe does make sense because he had a rebound year last year...very serviceable still and McCoy is just a steady fatty in the middle that has the versatility to play every position across the line. That's invaluable. My dark horse in our search for another vet is Mike Pennel. He is cheap, younger and played dominating for the chiefs down the playoff stretch. Watch out for him. He is on the rise. A late bloomer of sorts and sneaky good under the radar. Chris Jones received all the pub, rightfully so, but this cat was a hoss...the announcers calling the playoff games made note of his play game after game. He came alive. He has some juice to him. So I wouldn't be mad if we went that route instead of Poe.

I'll believe it when I see it. Hope it happens.
MIKE PENNEL. Watch his tape from last year down the playoff stretch. I'm just throwin it out there as a surprise move we may make instead of the big name guys.

another dark horse...Derek Wolfe. He's got a high motor from the DT position and is a tackling machine if healthy. Low risk high reward...and he is 32, but I think we can squeeze a good year from him.

I loved watching Pennell in the post season and mentioned to my son how I wish we had DTs like that. Big bodies that force plays to the outside. Cancer survivor too.
