Yeah Mo never lived up to that draft stock but it would've been a decent miss if they didn't give up so much for him. Instead, they not only missed out on some guys they passed up but gave up a pick to do it.
Hard to blame the team too much for making a bold move to go get the top-rated player at a premium position or a major position of need in a draft.

Would've been nice if he turned out to be worth it. I mean, in the past, we've settled for bad versions of a great player who got picked a handful of picks ahead of us, and we might have changed the course of our franchise if we'd been bold and gone and got the better guy.

In 1997, Tony Gonzalez got picked 13th overall while we picked David LaFleur 22nd.

In 1999, Jevon Kearse went 16th while we picked Ebenezer Ekuban 20th.

If we'd traded up to snag one of those great guys (the 97 trade would've cost a lot, but the 1999 one wouldn't have cost too much at all), we wouldn't look back and complain about the draft pick we gave up in the trade to acquire them. If Claiborne had been what he was supposed to be, same deal. We just had the bad luck of being bold when it came to the wrong guy. It happens.

And at least Claiborne was still a usable piece, unlike the worst busts. A bust who doesn't belong on the field at all is so much worse. Claiborne didn't become the elite shutdown type we hoped for but he belonged in an NFL starting lineup for a bunch of years. He just would've been better value if he fell towards the bottom of the round instead of someone picking him near the top, is all.

2013: Travis Frederick (All-Pro Stud)
2018: Leighton Vander Esch (Stud)

One brutal loss already on the books. Good chance for another.

Though we've been without the AllPro Stud Fredbeard for a couple of years now, and already missed a year with LVE last year.

As a judgments on our drafts they're just evidence we picked out some outstanding talent.

Mo was a consensus stud by the draft folks, though I know some Cowboy fans didn't see it. I didn't. I think many just projected him as the next Patrick Peterson, despite the massive difference in physical attributes.

Taco is the only regret on that list. Everyone else played decent to all pro.

Pretty bad overall. Not sexy but Martin, Frederick and Jones were by far the best picks.

I’m not mad at them for making the move. It made sense. But it failed.

Let's include 2011 Tyron Smith. That's four perennial 1st team All Pros, a total of 23 Pro Bowl seasons and 35 seasons as starters. Keep in mind, this doesn't include trading a #1 for Cooper who is also a Pro Bowler. You would be hard pressed to find a better draft record for the same period by another team..... 1st round picks only.

Good thing....it's the 2nd round where the Cowboys have been awful, with the exception of D-Law and Jaylon.

They screwed up on Taco and Mo.....I hate these type of tweets. Its like guys sit around and wait for something to knock them for. Go look at the Patriots first round picks since 2012.........didn't stop them from winning rings. Check out the Eagles too. Got themselves a ring.
Surprisingly just after the Fred beard retirement. Otherwise you could say 15 pro bowls between them all and a bunch of all pro apperences. It’s so stupid but that’s what 90% of social media does nowadays, hindsight 2020 Monday morning QB.

Only failure was the Grumpy Old Men (Jerry and Rob) not letting Taco develop on the field (see his 5 sack equivalent to D Lawrence in 2019).

Everyone else has with Super Bowl Ring, Pro Bowls, All Pros, and Playoff appearances.

Injuries happen in a collision sport.

2011 (hall of famer) 2012 (superbowl champ) 2013 (all pro) 2014 (all pro, most likely hall of famer) 2015 (2nd team all pro) 2016 (all pro, hall of fame potential) 2017 (flop) 2018 (2nd team all pro) 2019 (4x pro bowler).

That's an unblieveable list. Has to be best in the entire NFL (lol at Mosher trying to spin this list as bad)
