Could Dak be rethinking everything?

If we had lost Amari because Dak tied up the Franchise tag... then followed it up with this season being regressed as he shows again he “needs” a WR#1 to operate

This fan base would have turned ugly on him in a hurry

Yes but what if having resigned Amari Cooper Dak lefts this team to an 8-8 or 9-7 record and misses the playoffs while compiling personal stats?

Does not apply. Should everyone else also take less? The pandemic, has no bearing on his business. More objectivity is needed.
Example: I work at a fulfilling job, making far less than what my skills, knowledge, abilities, and credentials warrant. It is my choice, but at any given time, I can choose to go after more, and it has nothing to do with societal issues.

I understand where you are coming from. But I can tell you when people are struggling to find food and shelter for their families, which is very likely to happen given the huge hit the economy is taking, seeing Dak turn down a huge contract won’t play well with them.

i totally understand what you are saying. i'm pissed at the airlines for being reckless with a decade of billions annually in profits and gouging the consumer on stuff like snacks, smaller seats, change fees and bag prices. now they need a bailout. how does that make sense.

in the end life will move on with or without you. i'll still fly in the future. if fans hold this against dak, he'll still make his millions and life will move on. if he plays well all will be forgiven, if he wins a superbowl he'll be a hero, if he doesn't play well he will be lambasted no matter what. we need to stop comparing our lives to others. what each of us "deserves" and gets doesn't really change. looking at those in a better position and wanting them to take less than they can isn't realistic. if he takes less, it doesn't put more food on anyone's table but jerry. this is business. it might seem crass or unsympathetic but it's just how it is. there will always be people struggling which is a separate thing from his contract.

maybe he'd argue that if he made a couple more millions he could be more charitable...?

I truly understand what you are saying, but Dak should not feel guilty for making a living.

Is this a joke? Prescott had 30 and 11 last year, Goff had 22 and 16, and that's not counting advanced passing metrics, like air yards and catchable % (of which Dak was the only QB in the NFL to be top 5).

Dak is better, by a lot, and the cap has gone up. Goff's contract is absolutely a lowball offer.
dak is not better. Goff is not great either. But goff outplayed him at the crucial final game . Plus Goff is a bit more accurate.

What if Dak does not sign the tender and the draft happens and all the teams have their QB, then the Cowboys drop the franchise tag. Who signs him to a big money contract then?

This is all false, based on last year.

There is nothing Goff does better than Dak at this point. He was demonstrably worse last year.

if Dak is better why did the cowboys lose almost all their games against winning teams (1-6 record ) plus lost against losing tems like chicago and the jets. Plus head to head at the final game Dak was outplayed by mediocre Goff . Dak also failed to throw one touchdown . Now Dak wants to be a top paid QB ?/. This is insane and the results show it.

Shhhh....he threw for 4000+ yards. Didnt you see the #s? He’s the 40 million dollar man who can’t beat the carrot in an accuracy competition.

exactly right :) , we have a gem at QB it seems and we didn't know it. It is crazy the level of misperception some cowoboy fans have of Dak . The Dak hype has infected and may cripple this organization .

Head to Head the cowboys scored 40 points and killed the Rams I don't even know what you're talking about

sorry i meant to say wentz outplayed dak during the season finale.
Ah yes, the 17-point juggernaut offensive performance of Carson Wentz is exactly why Dak Prescott shouldn't get more than Jared Goff.

none of them are great or a juggernaut. The rams hate the fact they paid him . If we pay dak a long term deal we will regret it . all the symptoms are there that he is very mediocre , a bus driver at best . With this team's defensive issues, expensive RB and DT, the team cannot afford to pay 37+ mil on a mediocre QB. You will recognize this next season once dak has another meltdown .

Imho, Dak and his agent need to lower their demands to allow the team the financial resources to improve as need be. He's simply not worth $35 million, regardless of the contract length in question. That's Russell Wilson's contract level, not Dak's at this juncture. I do like him but not quite that much.

Ok, well whether or not the Rams hate the contract is irrelevant to negotiations.
None of those symptoms are there. He was the only quarterback in the league in the top-5 in accuracy and air yards.
They don't have an expensive DT, and can literally do whatever they want right now. Dak's cap hit is likely to be under $30m in the first year. Amari's, for instance, went down, from last year to this year, despite a $100m extension.

Dak didn't have a meltdown, the coaching staff did.
