I can't say anything bad about him. He did his job here, played pretty well. Solid but rarely if ever elevated his game.
I can't remember the last time a big Cowboy FA left and was worth the money the new team paid. Maybe he will be the first. I doubt it though.

We'll probably take the same approach with OL. People are expecting us to sign a big name free agent now that Frederick retired. We just drafted Williams in the 2nd and McGovern in the 3rd in the past two drafts. Not to mention, we have Looney. I expect us to go with our young talent. The only positions we went out and got free agents were the ones where we had no talent or potential - safety and DT. I wouldn't be surprised if we draft those positions early even with the new free agents.

I liked Byron. Good guy. And I believe him. Much better way to leave the Cowboys than what Cole Beasley did......
Byron is a good dude,, if he hadn't decided to play football, he would have been a senator... different type of player for sure.
I wouldn't be surprised if we still see him playing in this league for another 7 yrs,,, wouldn't surprise me one bit.

Yeah, he took the high road on this. It was ALL about the $$ as none of our other corners come close to his ability.
I knew they weren't going to resign him, just glad he went to Miami, and not a divisional foe.
Byron will instantly make the Dolphins secondary much better than they were.

Been saying it throughout

Byron was ok but not worth the money

Awuzie/Lewis/Brien are good enough If we upgrade safety plan and front 7

Now that part would shock me. I think he's going to be the first to go with Father Time kicks in. He's still relatively young but as of now he needs every bit of his athleticism. I'm rooting for him but I'm not sure he makes it to the end of this contract. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Ugh, Garrett and his staff's love of "position flex" is really what screwed up Jones' first couple of years....there's a reason most teams aren't enamored of position flex.

Fair point.

Great guy and has another potential 3-4 years at All-Pro level in him.

At least he didn't join the Eagles.
