Dak vs. Romo is one of those things where both sides are so entrenched that it doesn't matter what happens, what evidence is presented or what anybody involved says (including the players and coaches themselves.)

Dak winning a ring or suddenly washing out to some crazy degree are the only things that will even move the needle at this point.

Personally I think both guys are/were good but not historically great players, but most fans can only see the QB as either a superhero or a bum. So these topics always turn into a death-spiral of rants powered by obvious biases.

Not sure Dak critics will ever accept it but he makes pretty clear it was the right decision. To me, it simply BAD LUCK for him but amazing things turn out. He now has a lifetime job, better than football and more money. Maybe he should send Dak a thank you card ....(LOL).

Dak ran off 11 straight wins. If they benched him for Romo then lost the playoff game, the same people now saying Romo should've played would've lost their minds over the stupid decision to bench Dak.

Either way people were going to complain. Why? Because the Cowboys blew it in the playoffs...again.

I could be wrong I can't remember if it was Witten or Garrett or if it was both who wanted to ride with Dak. I remember being shocked because they both were Romo guys or considered Romo guys.

It was Garrett all the way. His presser left no opening for Romo to play other than as Dak backup if he got hurt.

I’m a Romo fan and keeping Dak in was the right decision. They were winning and Dak was doing well. Only issue I have is that they didn’t allow an open QB competition. But Romos’s health was always in question, especially the last few years. Glad he’s doing well post football.

I hang that more on JJ or JG because we’re still in that position behind Dak. There’s no competition and even anyone capable of winning games behind the starter. Weeden, Cassell, and now Rush? Poor FO management IMO.

Open competition is great and all, but there is a time to just go with one guy. Compete in training camp and pre-season. Maybe you can get away with it a game or 2 into the regular season, but at some point you need to have a clear #1. If you don't have a clear choice you probably just have a bunch of non-quality QBs. If you try to mess around and do the competition thing during the middle of a season, it can create distractions and screw up team chemistry. We have seen it as Cowboys fans. Landry let it happen with Craig Morton and Roger Staubach. He let that go longer than it should have.

Most playoff caliber teams don't have a backup QB capable of competing with the starter. Having one that can win a few games is a different matter, but there is usually a very well defined QB hierarchy for each of the top franchises.

He was top 5 several times in his career. You're a troll who knows nothing about football. Stop pretending otherwise.

Says that genius that predicted Dak was nothing more than a backup.

You are basically the dunce corner of posters.

Romo was NEVER considered elite by anyone. But hey, you are the QB guru right? You also predicted Romo would get his job back. LOL

 I dont know how anyone could think that after watching Wentz beat the Cowboys with WRs off the street. You switch those two QBs for that game and I would bet Wentz wins with Dallas.
yep an injured Dak a healthy Wentz makes perfect sense. Maybe we look at first game and see how bad dak beat him and the eagles up.

And you predicted that Dak would win 3 MVPs in a row... and now you look like the braindead troll that you are as a result. Congratulations, Nostradamus... everyone is laughing at you once again.

I like both and think it was the right decision but this is what have you done for me lately league and Dak is going to be paid the highest paid player in the league and he has not even gotten passed the divisional round of the playoffs. Plus he is coming off a season where he did not lead his team to the playoffs. I don’t care what others say- it was the coach, defense, WRs dropping balls, etc. if you are the qb you adapt and overcome. I hope he does well and wins us many Super Bowls. I like Dak but if he can’t deliver he is going to find out what the NFL really stands for- Not For Long.

Aw poor Boomer, he gets mad when other people say wild crazy things without any proof, must not be any mirrors in his house. Cry me a river, Boomer.

Romo was pretty obviously top 5 at different points in his career. Stop pretending like you're not a clueless troll. You don't know what you're talking about.
All the top 5 quarterbacks got more than 1 playoff win. He's top 5 in your heart, mind, body and soul.

Coming from you that's a gem. Five responses on the first page alone. Same running off of the mouth with half truths that Romo dealt with in the media for his entire career.
What did you want me to talk about in a Romo thread? Let me know so I can take notes on how to post. Thanks.

Exactly the kind of brain dead, made up definition of top 5 quarterback that I would expect from a clueless troll. And next time, try coming up with one that at least excludes the QB you are talking about... Dak is the one with 1 playoff win. What a joke.
