Pretty good with 1, 2, and 11.

Struggling mightily with 4, 7, 8, and 9.

Dude, this makes no sense at all......BTW where is "you are what your record says you are" in the 11 commandments?

Are you saying you don't like my post? :(

I actually thought it was a rather insightful and thought provoking addition to this one millionth Dak thread.
A sort of out of the box and in your face kind of offering...don't you think....no?
Oh well, can't please everybody I guess.

B+....... although #7 can be a missed block, wrong route or bad read, I think he can avoid a few more sacks by throwing the ball away a bit more. The good news here is he's notorious for keeping interceptions to a min. Otherwise, he's nailed the other 10 IMO

Bill Parcels’ 11 Quarterback Commandments
  1. Press or TV agents or advisers, family or wives, friends or relatives, fans or hangers-on, ignore them on matters of football, they don’t know what’s happening here.
  2. Don’t forget to have fun, but don’t be the class clown. Clowns and leaders don’t mix. Clowns can’t run a huddle.
  3. A quarterback throws with his legs more than his arms. Squat and run. Fat quarterbacks can’t avoid the rush.
  4. Know your job cold. This is not a game without errors. Keep yours to a minimum. Study.
  5. Know your own players. Who’s fast? Who can catch? Who needs encouragement? Be precise. Know your opponent.
  6. Be the same guy every day. In condition, preparing to lead, studying your plan. A coach can’t prepare you for every eventuality. Prepare yourself and remember, impulse decisions usually equal mistakes.
  7. Throwing the ball away is a good play. Sacks, interceptions, and fumbles are bad plays. Protect against those.
  8. You must learn to manage the game. Personnel, play call, motions, ball handling, proper reads, accurate throws, play fakes. Clock, clock, clock, don’t you ever lose track of the clock.
  9. Passing stats and TD passes are not how you’re gonna be judged. Your job is to get your team in the endzone and that’s how you’re gonna be judged.
  10. When all around you is in chaos, you must be the hand that steers the ship. If you have a panic button, so will everyone else. Our ship can’t have panic buttons.
  11. Don’t be a celebrity quarterback. We don’t need any of those. We need battlefield commanders that are willing to fight it out every day, every week, and every season, and lead their team to win after win after win.

He needs to heed #9. I think this was his biggest flaw (especially against good teams) last season.
What keeps the Joneses and many fans from bailing on Dak is that he is a hard worker, a leader and a calm presence on the field and off. I just don't know if he can overcome a life-time of not being a pocket passer. I'm pulling for him, though, hoping he improves under the new Big Molded Cheese.

You can't say dak takes too many sacks if he's at the bottom of the league in sacks taken..you can argue a different point, but not sacks taken. He took less sacks than just about everyone else. Period.
Huh, in 2019 he was middle of the pack as far as sacks taken and unless I’m Ray Charles I’m pretty sure he was second in sacks taken in 2018. Period.

Yeah do you know how many starting qbs there are?

Oh now you want to move the goal posts...he didn't take sacks last year...PERIOD

I guess you are as blind as ray Charles..thanks for letting me know
I’m sorry did you ever specify what year we were talking about originally? I didn’t. Do you want to average all of his games or just cherry pick one season to try and prove a point? EXCLAMATION POINT

And actually he did take sacks last year, 23 to be exact.

I also said I don’t think there is that big of a difference between him and the guys that are “middle of the pack” based on just numbers. He took 6 less sacks than Dee Wayne Haskins for christ's sake. That’s minimal IMO but whatever...this conversation is going nowhere. You’re right, I’m wrong, you win. What else do you want to talk about?

Dak sucked in 18. Improved big time in 19 in this department specifically.

Haskins started 9 games last year , by the way..

But yes...moving along amicably...

Some are difficult for us as fans to know (such as him studying and how well he knows his job). Guessing, I'd say some he does well on, some he is mixed (he does part of the item well, but not all of it). The biggest poor marks would be on #10 - he definitely has a panic button.

Overall, factoring in unknowns, I guess I'd give him a C?
