I think I would refer to Nolan and Tomsula and if they like his tape I’m fine with it. My only problem with him is health.

I'm hoping a guy like Jackson is able to fill that RDE position with more reps and development in TC. We might also secure another one in the draft with the wherewithal to fit in there capably, although, it might well take a year or so to work himself into that role. It's a valid need, without a doubt. Otherwise, a capable and experienced vet FA would help. Is the FO willing to take another step into that marketplace? We'll see. Sheard might be nice.

Not predicting it but the lottery tickets on that would be A) Gregory being on the roster full time and B) Dorance Armstrong stepping up. Its possible, the real long shot would Jelks instead of Jackson IMO, he has much more of the RDE skill set.

DL play takes several years of technique work for a guy to really take off, DLaw is a great example of that. Dorance Armstrong is a guy that has the physical talent and enough time in the system now that he could make a big jump in performance this year. He will never be DLaw obviously but its possible he becomes a solid starter if we are forced to give the reps to someone currently on the roster.

Yes his health is a problem I agree. Let's see if he can remain on the field now.

That is likely part of the delay with Crawford, I've read he is still recovering from the hip procedure. It could be that Dallas wants to know if he is fully healthy before they decide what reduced salary they want to offer or it could be Crawford just has to medically retire and that makes the decision for everyone.

Maybe they can't do anything with his contract because he can't pass a physical? If what you're saying is accurate, that would actually qualify as a valid reason they haven't done anything with his deal. Because they can't. Do you have a link to the details about his recovery?

Good stuff, Kaiser! I considered suggesting Dorance Armstrong as well and decided on Jackson simply as someone who might be a step up from what we'd likely have with Crawford. I'll confess to not knowing much about Armstrong but if he's able to wrest the DE job from any other player, all the more power to that young man. I'm unsure if Jelks has the strength to play the run as need be but we'll see what he has to offer in TC. I can't wait -- of course, that's assuming we'll have one.

I can tell you exactly the progress because...

I AM TYRONE CRAWFORD.

Just messing with you, I looked for a link just now and don't find it, most of that was in Twitter feeds I follow and not any kind of formal medical report.

Also I think most NFL players can pass a "good enough" physical where they would fail a normal physical badly. Crawford didn't have a full replacement like I did but it was still a serious procedure, there is no telling (just like Travis Frederick) what the real story is.

I had hip replacement two years ago so I've just done stationary bike and weights since then. Since they shut down the gyms I've had to try jogging for the first time in two years and its been a big reminder that my Titanium-self is a lot different than my old self.

Jelks is a super longshot but you read blurbs that he had flashes but needed the work in the weight room, which he got.

Armstrong had flashes in the games, he is undersized but could still play RDE if he does step up. I do think the starter next year is a draft pick but those guys could surprise.

I knew it! That's explains you sticking up for yourself all these years! That's low, even for you Crawford!

Wow, I'm sorry to hear that man. My sympathies, that has to be rough.

So go laugh with the other teams.

Does this mean I'm kicked out? Because I don't measure up to your idea of 'check-your-brain-at-the-door-fanhood'?

Welp, it's been a helluva a run fellas, I'll be seeing y'all!

Thanks but actually it sounds ten times worse than it actually is. I'm fairly young and it was done by one of the top Sports Ortho guys at UCLA so I had very little complications. It slows you down so I can't do stuff like sprints but (this will shock you) I wasn't really a sprint guy to start with. I mostly did Spin and I'm back to that.

The procedure and the materials have come a long way, twenty years ago it was "dropping the transmission in an old Ford" but I was home two days after surgery and walking without a cane after 3 weeks. In about 6 weeks I was basically back to normal, but thanks for your concern.

My wife's great aunt had both of hers done and it was no picnic for her. Then again, she was in her '90's. But I can't imagine it's an easy surgery or recovery. But if you're Spinning, you're doing more than me, I just bike ride.

H-m-m, it might be a tough go of it for a guy with a hip thingy going on.:omg:

Seems like it might affect his ability to cut to some extent. I guess we'll see.

so if Crawford decides to decline a pay cut insistence from management, Tyrone stays.. based off McCarthy " the big Mike operator " himself insisting Crawford to stay around ?Naaah, .. Don't believe the Hype ..

Even the legendary Big Tuna never had that kind of sheer power and authority - ( ala Terrell Owens addition) over the Jones management, and you can
be certain MM will NOT have THAT kind of authority and pull.
..what i aim to see if Crawford is actually allowed a repeat encore on his due cap dollars, even from the usual conservative Stephen Jones, in being allowed to
carry his 8-9 million back again into Cowboys 2020 roster.

that's what I was told here.
