Other way around.

Absolute nonsense, unless you're one of those people who buy milk for 3x the price just because you like the label.

The kicker market is evidently non-existent, and the Cowboys basically have said, "Okay, see if you can out-kick Forbath in preseason, and maybe."

Well we have 5 comp picks and the most a team can have is 4. Even if he does count - we’d lose a 6th round comp pick..

And if you could go back in time to trade a 5th for the best kicker in the NFL last year knowing it would be the difference in making the playoffs - would you do it?

I wouldn't hesitate.

makes no sense to give 2 kickers contracts, hopefully we can trade one of them.

How is the move stupid? Forbath was insurance and his contract was only guaranteed for 137K. If they cut him tomorrow it will have zero impact on anything.
It’s stupid because Forbath is most likely the more accurate kicker, for less money!!!!

So the Cowboys just basically flushed a couple mill of cap space for no reason. Didn't improve the team one iota.

He's coming off of a poor season (72.7% on field goals), and he has been somewhat up and down in his career, but he has a hell of a leg and a long history with John Fassel. Let's see how it goes.

That's what kickers do. They're up then they're down. Forbath could easily out kick Zuerlein in 2020 just like he did in 2019.

He has been on six different teams and his career kicking % is 86. I'm glad he did well in a few games here, but its foolish to expect him to do significantly better than his career average.

Especially when you sign one of the best to replace him.

He was terrible from 40-49 yards last season, missing 6 of 11 attempts.

Hopefully, that was an aberration.

Vanderjagt was one of the league's best when he came here and crapped the bed. Similar situation. The Cowboys looked at career over what the player is doing now.

There is no kicking competition. 3.5 million guaranteed makes The Leg your kicker. Nice knowing you, Kai. Should have come up with a good nickname.
