Was there any incoming kickers in the upcoming draft that looks good? I would have rather drafted a K instead of overspend on a K that is not as accurate as the K on the rooster.
Kickers are pretty risky in the draft.

It is not often one comes out and is top shelf from day one. Many of them bounce around until they get their groove.

Zuerlein was 87% and 92% the year before. In 2017, he was 6-7 from 40-49. Now, apparently he had an injury last year. If you look at the game log, he was actually really good until week 12. The injury could explain that. If he craps the bed in camp, he can be cut, but he's definitely an upgrade over what we ran out last season.

if Kai was 10 of 10 ;ast year, and career % is 86 % to Z's 82% and Z was missing from the 40 to 49 yd range last season, then this
is not a smart signing.
They are signing a name, not the best current kicker.
Kai was 100 % last season and it does not make sense to dump him for a guy with a bigger name due to some past seasons.
Also last season Kai was the better kicker, and Z had some injurys, which like with bailey can change a good kicker to not so good.
Then last Kai was much cheaper.

So dont celebrate this signing yet.

Kai had a very limited sample size. Zeurlein has had a much better career. Now, it is possible that Greg the Leg is washed up and done, or it could be his numbers were affected by injury. Why are we using half season sample sizes vs one year on kickers when we don't do the same thing on other positions.

Based on this logic, Taco and Tank are equal players, both registering 5 sacks last year.

Now we know why we let Heath Go.

Come draft time with our all picks and two kickers, we can really wheel and deal.

With a kicker I think you just ride the hot hand. They're too erratic to put much stock in a body of work over years. If the guy you got now is doing the job then keep him.

This could very well cost us the Super Bowl this year.

We are conditioned to worry about the FG kicker because Garrett was reliant on near perfection from them to execute his punchless game plans.

Having a bad FG kicker is not acceptable. But you should never, ever depend on a kicker to be a weapon.

Clearly we did that with Maher.

Looks like McCarthy is doubling down on ST. Getting clear with this, the Canady signing etc.

Well, we got Bailey that way.

I like the move, hopefully he’s healthy during training camp.

Frazier was a pretty good special teams player but it doesn't appear he's coming back.

ok you need to put your answer after the end quote, or it wont show up .
I will paste in what you said :
"

your right on sample size, but going by career is going by name and past deeds. Kickers are different than other players, and injury's, and mental
issues can affect them more.
Better to go by their most recent record.
Based on this logic, Taco and Tank are equal players, both registering 5 sacks last year......... they are equal in getting sacks lol
But sacks are way overrated and a poor way to judge DL guys. You should not judge a player based on only 5 plays in the whole season.
Sacks are often in garbage time, and sometimes a tackle 1 yd behind the line can be ruled a sack?
Sacks have been glorified to the point of being meaningless.

Frazier is still on the market when last week was when the "ST mavens" were signed.

He could come back. Plus he is coming off of injury.
