Some of the sub coaching hires are troubling.

Nolan and Philbin.

the nightmare relationship he had with ARodgers in GB.

rodgers hated MM.

lots of disfunction there.

I think Edwards was hired to keep Nolan in check.

KMoore was kept because they know about the GB problems.

DougN was promoted to keep Dak happy. No way they let MM and Dak develop a bad relationship.

A lot of insight.

Thanks for the heads up!

So was Belichick when the Patriots hired him.

So was Don Shula when the Dolphins hired him.

The narrative that McCarthy "wasted" the prime of Aaron Rodgers looks suspicious now that we've seen him coached by an offensive boy genius and the results were... the same, if not worse. The Packers fielded some good teams, but McCarthy also had to contend with weak defensive rosters and scrub running backs for long stretches as well, and since he wasn't GM it's hard to hang that around his neck.

As great as Rodgers has been, his freelancing and holding the ball in hopes of scoring the big kill shot have ALSO led him to kill drives with unnecessary sacks at a high rate, when following the "boring" play call might have gotten them a 1st down.
Yes.

My Packer following has been limited to them embarrassing us with Garrett.

And Dak spotting then 25 points each game before waking up.

Not such nice reference points.

And Rodgers just strikes me as being too smug and he does that to keep people from questioning him.

Like when he called that press conference and said..

R-E-L-A-X..

We got this.

Ahem.

Pretty arrogent.

Think Dak does that to McCarthy?

Not on a prayer.

I’m very concerned and intrigued with how MM will do without a HOF QB. I think people underestimate how important that is, if he didn’t have AR or Favre I don’ think he would have been anywhere close to as successful as he was. I’m not a Dak hater but he’s nowhere in the same league as two of the best QB’s to ever play the game.

I can only hope his “analysis” or whatever you want to call it during his year off has changed because I don’t think he can roll out with the same game plan that he did in GB and continue to be as successful.

I think as talented as Rodgers was, he was not the easiest player to coach, or work with and I have a strong suspicion that that was more of an impediment to deal with than most thought it was.

I think Mike Tomlin is a tool, but after Antonio Bryant left, I developed a little bit more sympathy for the guy. Who knew Bryant was such a head case?

Huh, very interesting and legitimate thoughts. No doubt Rodgers is a smug, arrogant jerk and he’s hard to work with but I still think he covered MM’s deficiencies. Can Dak do the same?

That could be said for even Bill Billchick.. Heck, he has had some pretty bad seasons as well. Look at Mike Tomlin as well, he has let the wheels fall off a few times too. Big Mike has proved he can get it done, that
can't be disputed.
Bill improved and came the GOAT as he aged. MM is not in his class. Tonkin started off good, but he shouldn’t be mentioned with a Bill either.

If MM starts missing team meetings and leaves practice to get his massages here in Dallas as he did in GB, is that going to fly with Cowboy fans? Rodgers had valid reasons to dislike him and yes, I know that Rodgers is a very unlikable , arrogant , drama queen.
