Ok..

Not trying to flood your fan enjoyment with too many questions..but .

Does the fact that it takes a long time for our offense to get up to speed and score early on bother you?

Who is responsible for this glitch?

HC

OC

QB

?

It's a severe problem we do not speak of much.

But it's been happening alot post 2016.

In that year, we scored early, controlled the clock and took the air out of games and it was a beautiful thing.

We have completely lost that. I did not add Garrett to the above as he has moved on. But it did seem that he preferred to play games close into the 4th qt .

I never understood it. It was like Garrett being a QB wanted the game in the end to be up to the QB. I know that does not sound realistic..but still.

So how do you guys see that?

Comments, solutions, kick the can.

Not at all as our QB is sooooo Great he feels sad for the opposing teams and lets them take the lead in pretty much 80% of our games.
He does this as his greatness allows him to march down in the 4th Q and win the games baby or worst-case scenario pad his garbage stats.
I mean common now Mahomes who the heck is that compared to Dak?

My point precisely.

Dak got away in 2016 with a lot of come from behind games.

But those have declined dramatically over his career.

Early on it was pointed out that Dak was a great comeback player. 2018 was better than 2017 and 2019 was a crash and burn year.

With all these warning signs..not a clue why people think he is so great.

I am not sure he is really in the top 10 QBs in the NFL.

With all the new younger QBs in the NFL..

he may not be in the top 15.

And you pay him like a #1?

Is this team crazy?

It's a toss-up as to which bugs me more: the poor starts versus the choke finishes. I'm calling this one a tie.

It starts with our Oline. They have gotten into a habit of committing drive killing penalties way too much since 2017. Plus, they don't fire out as much as they should. Always on their heels. Not good, hence why they have gotten rid of 3 Oline coaches in the past 3 years. Here is hoping McCarthy's new Oline coach straightens our Oline up. Our Offense goes according to how our Oline goes.

This certainly has a baring on matters.

The OL has declined since Hudson Houck left.

Columbo struggled in 2019 after I was really impressed with him in 2018 when he took over.

Callahan was our best OL coach of recent memory.

What we have now with Beard suddenly retired is anybodies guess.

The new OL coach suddenly had some pressure on him to find a replacement in the draft. Especially depending on how high they want to use a draft pick.

They could take one anywhere from 1st to 4th rds or try to get by with who they have.

I am just clueless but they do not have a ton of time to figure it out.

this elite junk need more time to figure it out
Only our FO with the Beverly Hillbillies we have running our team would consider Dak a franchise QB.
We will become the laughing stock of the NFL and every Cowboy hater will have a party once again at our expense!!!

It's a new decade with a new coach. Outside of some of the player holdovers I'm viewing this as a fresh start for the team and an end to an error for the Garrett years.

Let's come back and discuss this a few games into the season after we see how a McCarthy led team responds.

Colombo didn’t struggle.

the opposite.

the only reason Philbin was hired as OL coach is because he was big buddies with MM in GB.

MM didn’t even interview Colombo or Philbin for the OL job.

The Cowboys are a mediocre team and rarely do they give a nice beatdown to another team where you can sit back and enjoy the game. Even when this team gets a lead they are fully capable of blowing it because they always tend to celebrate during the games. If they get big win one week its almost guaranteed they lose the next week. Garrett has been a majority of the problem in my opinion. Doesnt know how to prepare for other teams and doesnt understand how to make in game adjustments. I also blame inconsistency at the QB position. Ultimately this all falls in Jerrys lap because he is the GM.
