I doubt that line calls, perfect snaps and then blocking way too much IFs for MCgoivern, close means bad snaps that can vcost us close games...we dont need sailing balls..we dont have otas or Mcs to even train these guys and who know short PS or none? think of the times we are in Looney doesnt need practice..he gets the nod if its close but Conner gets backup role at C but competes at LG with Cwill..dude was on ir all last year..hes not ready

McGovern played center for a year at Penn State. He's not an incompetent. He's not perfect, but neither is Looney.

Looney is old with an arrow going down. McGovern is young with an arrow going up, who we have the right to for the next 3 years.

Looney will win out if too much of camp/preseason is canceled.

="quickccc, post: 10089680, member: 40931"]yeh ,if it's close they'll lean towards longer term investment McGovern.
But being a rookie with no work in pads, will they work McGovern exclusively at center in camp which would really be his rookie year all over again? or switch him back and forth between center and OG (which i would be against)

I'd be against it too.

If McGovern is first option at C, they shouldn't futz around with it. Don't split him between positions. Let him get all the C snaps he can. Even if they have to move him back to LG, I don't see that as having a tough learning curve for him, particularly after being responsible for the line calls and playing next to the LG as C.

At this point I'd still like us to address edge rusher because I have zero confidence in Crawford, and then a new punter.

Although a #3 receiver would be nice, we missed the boat to address it in FA so think we can grab someone who can immediately upgrade that position in the draft.

Technically I’ll say Dak. To lower the cap figure. So that they can then go get Griffen or Logan Ryan. Ideally both of them if they cut or restructure Crawford too. Help make the draft a best player available option. If one of the top 3 receivers are there we could take one and not reach for a need defensive player that is more worthy of a later pick.

A few nice signings today, but I'd like to see that train keep rolling and the momentum continue.

While I would love to add Everson Griffen first and foremost, he may be a big ticket item out of our price range (but I will hold out hope).

But next on my list would be WR Taylor Gabriel.

Speed guy that is versatile and can line up outside and in the slot. Released by the Bears so signing him would not impact comp pick formula either. He would be my pick to replace Randall Cobb.

How about y'all? Who's next on your lists?

How about Lynch and 2 #1 round picks for JJ ?!

Heck, i'd throw his authistic son into the deal too.
I'm havin my patronizing day today!

Eric Berry

I would rather see some current players contracts extended that are close to expiring than chase more free agents
Lol. Eric Berry. As the water boy? Cheerleader? He is done with professional football.

AGAIN THAT WAS ONE SEASON 3 YEARS AGO AND LAST YEAR ON IR AND THIS SEASON TRAINing WILL BE CUT WAY SHORT MEANS NO FIELD TIME TO WORK OUT THE KINKS..

thats a nod for Looney , hes worked with dak and this line and you go Vet first and IF Conner blows you away , fine but if its close at all Looney starts at C , book it..
