Dak was the 27th most sacked QB last season. I think fans sometimes do not want to recognize the growth in Dak simply because he was a 4th round pick. Historically Dak after his frist 4 seasons is one of the best QBs ever.
Yeah..

But Mahomes produces bigger plays with his legs than Dak can.

Dak has had it drilled into him to throw downfield and make his progression reads.

He gets sacked alot doing that.

I hope MM let's Dak go back to his QB style of 2016. He was feared as a QB then. Little by little under Garrett..his best skills were blunted.

If Dak can return to the original Dak we had, keep him and pay him.

If not, tag him and begin the search and make Dak compete for his big contract to come.

It's not just about Dak. It's about all 53 guys who want to win and redo their deals and cash in.

That's fine but they all have to get it in gear.

Right now despite the health issues now.

The teams that overcome the here and now will be the teams who should come to the top tomorrow.

Out of respect,, no baiting here,, just curious where you think that came that from?

I get it.

But the team around him on offense totals like $120 mil/yr.

He should do well with that supporting cast.

I just think of him as an expensive busdriver anymore.

Pay him whatever, quote stats and justify him..

I just do not see Dak as even a top 15 QB anymore.

Look at the QBs that beat him?

In 2019 there was the Jets, Tenn, Buffalo, holy cow Batman.

He did not play Mahomes but had he played him in an important game..Dak would be roadkill.

Dak does not beat GOOD TEAMS.

He beats lower rung teams and his supporters have been out of any meaningful end of season contests that they do not see because of their rose colored glasses.

At first I bought into the ledgend being sold by the team about Dak.

A 4th Rd phenom.

His mom's story..(RIP)

His soup commercials..

His taking Romo's job and Romo falling on his sword..

His pregame hip wiggles..

On and on.

But he just is not winning as we need him to do.

I saw all of this with Romo.

It was a cautionary tale then, it is now with Dak.

I am not a hater.

I am just tired of being fooled.

What's that old saying..

"Fool me once, shame on me..fool me twice?"

You guys know what I am saying.

Trying to be loud and clear.

But offensively I want a starting rookie center, a slot WR backup wide out guy with golden hands for possession passes, a TE with flash upfield to run everything from curls to bubble screens..

And I want that by the end of the next draft.

We cannot find all this and the defensive needs, too.
Sure the Cowboys can. They have enough draft picks and salary cap space left. I'm a big believer in the players returning from injury. A lot of talent there. Wait until September and you will be a big believer in the 53 McCarthy puts together.

You are confusing me.

You believe that injured players can return and contribute..

but Dez..no can do.?

I will not belabor your points but you have a little inconsistency there.

Dez is a lightning rod I admit.

Ok.

Oh I know..

Garrett who was always jealous of Aikman.

Anybody would be if you came from Princeton and believed you were the smarter.

Garrett spent 10 years plus his playing days trying to show he had what it took.

In the end, he only proved he needed help.

Which is not a crime. We all can use help.

I just did not believe in Garrett after the 3rd 8-8 season in a row

Romo wasted his whole career on Garrett and Jerrah.

It was sad.

The greatest bus driver of all time is Tom Brady. He just so happened to be one of the most clutch QBs of all time as well. Dak is in that mold

I can see where some might think that.

I would also say some of that is more legend than actual fact.

No deference to your point at all.

I just think Daks best busdriving season was 2016.

Since then..he has been 9-7, 10-6 and 8-8. Two of the last 3 seasons out of the playoffs.

Not leading the league in many categories at all..sort of plain vanilla years.

So if you want to use Brady as a comparable..fine.

But then we have to factor coaching and another million other variables from the FO down to the weather Brady plays in in NE as reasons for winning too.

Too much to chew there to me. But others will have some comments for sure here.

Hmmmm...

Players get injured and come back. It happens all the time. If they can still perform, they make the 53.

That isn't the case with Dez. He can't play at NFL level any more. It's really that simple. That's why he isn't in the league right now.

McGovern, Crawford, Frazier, LVE, Connor Williams. Injured players like that will return and contribute.

The Cowboys would be better off drafting a WR on day 1 or day 2 if they feel they need to add talent there.

I agree.

Good reply.

And yes..with the talent in the draft..

WRs are much more plentiful in the draft and uninjured like a Dez.

I would definitely think about WR in the 1st-3rd Rds without question.

Mel Kiper will coughup his latte if we do.

Should be fun to watch him say " Great move for Dallas.." and not really mean it.

With this draft at the position, you could just take a player with the pick and have a fighting chance of coming out with a similar talent to Cooks. No reason to trade for an older player.

Not to mention, why we would take a player who has been passed around to three different teams? No Spagnola.

I like Brandin Cooks but he's not a #3 WR and would be an ill-fit there. Just draft someone if you cant find a good slot guy.

No thanks. I'm not spending anything higher than a 5th or 6th rounder for an insanely expensive veteran. We need our 1st-4th rounders to come in and play for peanuts for 4 years to offset all the expensive vets we already have.
Yeah would rather see Dallas use the draft
