Besides, read the article and not just the headline. The primary reason he gave was Houston having been to the playoffs a lot in recent years. The part obout Watson being a winner was an added comment, and didn’t suggest he chose Houston because he preferred Watson over Dak.

Here was what he said ...”The reason I picked the Texans is, obviously, I think that you look at what they’ve been able to do over the past few years,” Cobb said. “[They] went to the playoffs four of the past five times.

He merely expressed excitement about playing with Watson just as he expressed excitement about playing with Dak a year ago. It’s just him saying the right things. Not everything is a soap opera.
" I think when you look at Deshaun and what he’s been able to do since he’s been in the league, I’ve been really impressed from afar watching him"

I didn't say he didn't talk up Watson. And, of course, any receiver going to a new team would talk about being excited about their new QB. Cobb did the same with Dak a year ago. And it's not just BS. Watson is a high quality QB.

I’m sure 9 million dollars didn’t hurt to convince him either.

$18 million guaranteed - over six times as much as what he made with the Cowboys.

But agendas gonna agenda and money had nothing to do with it. Dak's fault. :muttley:

“After making the noteworthy comparison between Watson and Rodgers, Cobb was asked to give his thoughts on playing with Prescott during his time in Dallas. He responded by simply saying ‘Yeah, I played with Dak.’”

There is no doubt Watson is a winner and I can see the attraction playing with him. The big salary was probably the biggest factor and good for him taking it. It will probably be his last big payday. It was probably a pretty easy decision for him and it should have been.

He loved that paycheck that no one else would have given him lol. Come on man.....Cobb was gitty about MM coming to Dallas. He knew what the market was for his services from the season before. Yea he played well for us but not twice the money any body else was gonna pay him well.

The Texans are a mess......if nothing else if MM fails in Dallas the Texans will still be the joke of Texas

Maybe Cobb thinks he'll have a better chance to see a Super Bowl with the Texans?! If so, we'll see if he's correct in that assessment. It's fair to say that perhaps he thinks Watson has a better shot at producing one than Dak?! That remains to be seen, as well. He surely didn't see the best that Dak had to offer last season, although Dak's surely had more successful seasons than that one in the past. There's also no denying that Cobb got more money from the Texans. That, in itself, has a high likelihood of being what was the determining factor. What will be, will be. He can be (and will be) replaced. ;)
