I think the cap amount is irrelevant in terms of savings. If we can find a better replacement, we should during the draft or afterward. There should be competition across the board on special teams with how damn horrendous it was.

Cap savings/hit is irrelevant. Even if it's a 5 million dollar cap hit, you have to move on immediately.

Trade down once
The point is we can use a late pick which generally doesn’t get you a player who can contribute early if at all
There are 3-4 punters in this draft who can be as good as jones for much less
And they will all be there late
