Whatever floats your boat, just hard to have substantive discussion when people are super negative or super positive. Facts are there are good things rolling in our favor as well as challenges, when a person is all the way in one direction or another you can’t really have any real conversation.

You sounds like you’ve made your approach more measured than your previous posts, it sounds more now like you have no expectations where before you were pessimistic. Obviously the former is a normal way to go about viewership. Again, it’s those who feel we have no shot and see no positives that I believe the OP is referring to.
There’s some positives but with those positives come concerns and questions. There’s also a few negatives that overly positive people like to gloss over and minimize and when someone expresses doubt or concern they are called out as being not “real” fans and told to go cheer for another team.

It used to be a Cowboys forum. Now it is mostly trolls. Amusingly, the ads the site pushes out tell you where most board members are in terms of their other internet action.

Sad. The worst.
Maybe if Jerry's team/world would start winning a few superbowls in a span of 25 yrs.........or at least in someone's lifetime, this would be one of the happiest boards.....unitl then, what is there to be optimistic about only to be let down severely?

I read over and over and over some of the posts that some of you people have to say regarding "our" Dallas Cowboys. You claim to be fans but yet I see comments like: nothing will change; it's been 25 years and I expect the same; not with Dak Prescott; I'll believe it when I see it; and I could go on. It's generally the same one who just come here to throw trash around and name call.

We have every reason to believe that this year will be different!
1) We have a real HC... the best we've had since Parcells
2) We have an entirely new coaching staff from top to bottom hand picked by our new HC sans KM
3) We have a QB that is going into his fifth year that threw for almost 5000 yds and just 11 ints with a 65% comp %
4) We have HC that kept KM to put their heads together to design a new offensive scheme
5) We have 2 new DT with some bulk to stop the run and good rotation of players on the DLine.
6) We have a very good RB that if he's in shape for the season could be like he was drafted
7) We have a new Special Teams Coach - We have 2 new kickers that we can count on so we will see which one sticks something that probably cost us at least 3 games last year.
8) We have the draft and the second wave of FA to add some quality if not outstanding additions.
9) Yes we have some issues on the OLine to straighten out but I believe that MM won't let us go into the season w/o that being addressed.

In closing I'm gonna go out on a limb here and not project a SB win but I believe we will make the playoffs and contend for the NFCC.

Go ahead and trash away!
It is much more of a Cowboys forum when you add the bozos to the ignore list.
There are plenty of just full on trolls.

Some people are just natural born losers and accept mediocrity in life.

The irony of this statement is the team has been quite competitive the last decade and the forum has gotten worse then when the team truly was tragic.

When you talk about 25 years being someone's lifetime you may well be on to something.
So many people feel entitled to win Super Bowls but that's not the way any of this works.

Any fan that can only enjoy Super Bowl winning seasons should find something else to do with their life.

Some people are just natural born losers and accept mediocrity in life.
And some are cry babies that whine incessantly but don't do a thing to change anything.
These are the most useless people on the planet.
They exist solely to make other people as miserable as they are.

Good post OP......what's disappointing/strange to me is how many, if not all of us as fans spent years begging for a new HC. Yet many fans won't give him a chance....

My point exactly... they all *****ed about we will never win anything with Garrett... the whole coaching staff is terrible... Marinelli needs to go his D is outdated... blah blah blah. Remember when most here were excited about Kris Richard coming here because he was a coach with the Legion of Boom and couldn't wait til he became the DC and how quickly that turned into "he sucks". They completely overhaul the entire coaching staff and bring a HC with a SB win and it still doesn't give anyone but a few a new outlook and hope. Hope is a bad word around here ya know.

So Why did you become a fan in the first place? Maybe because dallas has/had a winning tradition of winning superbowls? You are contradicting yourself.....yea we all had to find something else to do for the past 25yrs. when your team cant win the superbowl or even sniff since that is the prime directive of creating an NFL franchise along with any sport venues. What life are you currently living? Pats fans had alot to cheer about for 20 yrs. now...must be nice

Great post and the message needs to be repeated. The ones trashing you will be the normal haters who as you pointed out, trash everything Cowboys. You'll hear, "25 years blah blah blah". These types are quitters and losers. Some will post some meme's making fun of you. Some will trash the Jones saying "We'll never win as long as JJ is alive". Some will call us that are positive and objective, "Blind homers, etc." Just remember they are a bunch of losers.

It happened years ago my friend... If you are too positive and happy you are not a "realist." If every post is sunshine and rainbows then you are a "Homer". Somewhere the "Rose Colored glasses" come into play. Finally, making fun of others football IQ seems to be the "Holy grail"...have fun my friend.:)

Hasn't been en vogue here to actually root for the Cowboys in a few years actually.

While I value, admire and respect the OPs ideas... he also needs to understand that some of us (MYSELF INCLUDED) are tired, fedup and dissapointed by how mediocre this team has been over and over and over. And how pooorly our FO, and at this point nothing IMO, will truly ever chage under the JONSES

No I get it again both extremes are unproductive and frankly there’s no reason to be head over heals positive about a team that hasn’t won in as long as they haven’t.

I’m simply saying those on either spectrum, in this thread the OP specified those on the negative end, make it difficult to have substantive discussion and any type of solidarity as a fan. I know no one cares about being cool with eachother but that’s one of the perceived advantages of fandom, unity.

So it does get annoying to come on here daily and see some posters who post negative after negative with no acknowledgement of the positives, you’d think we were the Browns or Skins lol. Same goes to those who post unbridled positivity, I see it both ways

If all fans agreed on everything, it would be very boring around here.

Also .. winning solves a lot of problems with fans.
and given that nothing we do here affects what the front office does, what's left but to cheer or jeer.
