No, fans haven't.

Dallas had a top-10 run defense per attempt this year.
Aww here y'all go with this lol......Dallas run defense sucked last year too regardless of what the stats say. Go look at what Aaron Jones did to our defense and tell us that the run defense wasn't a problem. Just because the stats got inflated because they didn't play many good rushing attacks doesn't mean its not a issue.

Ok, now go do this for every team.

There are like 7 good rushing attacks in the entire NFL. Dallas was better than most.

Nitpicking single games to make broad strokes about the defense is pointless. Dallas couldn't score against NO, NE, or PHI. Offense should be the offseason priority. Same logic.

Its not nitpicking...anytime they faced a decent rushing attack they got done in. They didn't face many last year.

Vikings ran all over them.
Packers ran all over them.

Coincidentally Dalvin Cook and Aaron Jones were two of the better backs last year.

They shut down Saquon who runs behind a crappy offensive line.

Offense should be the priority? That's insane. All of our money is on OFFENSE. Tell the coaches to figure some things out. They improved the offense by getting a actual head coach.

Hilarious you accuse me of "Nitpicking single games" but a sentence later do the same EXACT Thing about the offense lol.

Cook averaged 3.7 ypc lol

Per the bolded...that is my exact point. It is what you're doing with the defense. It's stupid. Sorry it's over your head.

Going into that game I actually thought run defense was a strength of the cowboys. The Indy game being just a fluke. But it’s been messed up since then, and last season they refused to adjust or make a personell movement. Then once rod is gone they do. Jerry is suppose to be the GM, did it not cross his mind that run defense needed work even if rod was standing pat on his scheme? The new staff must have told him it’s key to shore up that line and we get McCoy and Poe, but it’s ridiculous that it was ignored last season.

That first game they didn't shut down Barkley, 11 carries for 120 and don't remember his passing yards.

Cowboys entered that game with a big head from coaches to players. As you can tell they did little homework in the week leading up to the game.

They got out schemed and dominated physically. What is even more sickening is we made literally no adjustment at the half.

One can argue is the game that broke the cowboys. Have never been the same since really

Quit box score watching......

183 total yards...........but tell me how the run defense was fine and its going "over my head" lol.

I didn't say it was fine against Minnesota. You referenced Cook, who wasn't generally effective. YPA is a significantly better measure of overall effectiveness.

What's over your head is the comparison of the offense and the defense. You're picking two games, and saying run defense is the problem. I'm picking three games, and saying offense is the problem. It's the same logic, and it's stupid both times.

You're right....but his credit.....he had 1 carry for 59 yards........

I vaguely remember the game. I thought Shurmur didn't give him enough touches for whatever reason. It was like he was saving him for something.

Just think if he would have had 20 plus carries. I could not believe they quit running him, guess he was worn out after doing all of that.

Richard wanted to kill that unit that game.

It was insane. The week before they faced the best rushing team in the league and dominated them. Then this game......they did that. You could argue they haven't been the same sense.
Good news is "slow as hell Lee is back". Yaay

Wow, he looked even worse than I would have imagined. But it supports what I've been saying - that he is not an interior LB. He's just not instinctive enough to fill the correct gaps before the blockers can get to him, or physical enough to fight through the blocks when they do. He needs to be an outside LB.

Its not the same though. Offense issues were from coaching. They replaced the head coach.

Defense couldn't stop any decent running backs......hopefully Nolan and the emphasis on the interior of the line fixes that.

Cook was effective. I just showed you the youtube clips did you see it? He killed us underneath. So yeah his rushing average was 3.7 but he made up for it in the passing game underneath. It wasn't like he was catching 20 yard passes.

At the end of the day the offense played much closer to its potential than the defense did.
