You just never know. They may feel like people do here and that Gregoryis coming back and they have Crawford. We will see. I like Chaisson based on what I think will be available. I'm not gonna lie and say that pick doesn't scare me. But this is the pitfalls of having a 8-8 season. You get to pick at a spot where you have to pray a premiere prospect falls to you. You are right on the outside of the best prospects here.

There's certainly a measure of risk with Chaisson and much is based on projections and potential. But I remember hearing some of that same trepidation when I was mentioning TJ Watt in 2017 and we all know how that turned out.

People keep talking about Gregory as if he's some quality option you can rely on. He's played 28 games. His career sack total doesn't match Ngakoue's worst season.

Marinelli is gone. Real coaching will only help.

People here act like they have drafted well the last three years. Go back and take a hard look at those drafts and be remotely objective. Based on that a trade isn't the craziest idea for a proven pass rusher.

Do you want to be making huge decisions like this based on your recent draft mistakes?

Isn't that following up one bad decision with another?

I believe that Gregory did not get a vested season last year because of suspension. If so, he is signed for the next 2 years. He is your situational starter at RDE with Crawford in 2020 and full time starter in 2021. There will be no Clowney, Griffen, and certainly not Ngaokue (where we have to give up valuable draft capital to fill other holes at CB, WR, S). Stop wasting your mental energy on this!

Never said I would give two number ones. Saying more like 2016 draft is unlikely to repeat itself anytime soon and they should be open to trades.

Every top pick the last three years looks at best questionable including paying Cooper.

A 1, a 4 and Pollard's autograph.

Cowboys!

I'm not sure what numbers Jeremiah is looking at, but based on a comparison, they're not that far off.

So you don't follow up past mistakes by making new ones. That's the point.

What is harder to find Stash, a proven pass rusher or a proven WR? Again not saying I would definitely do it but it isn't as crazy as it sounds.

Definitely the pass rusher. But we did manage to get one to get us 11.5 sacks last year, right? And for what? A 6th round pick? No 'one size fits all' formula in my book.

And I would ask, do you think that you can draft Chaisson at #17 and he could provide you with that dynamic pass rush you're looking for?

If so, you keep your other picks, and have a cheap contract for four years rather than paying top of the market from day one, right?

I'm not up for giving up ANY picks in this deep draft.

You add a guy like this when he is the final piece...see Charles Haley...

They arent there yet.

Besides, as I've said before...if you want a second high priced DE, sign Clowney for 1 year and this guy next year. Keep your 1sts. Plenty of gaps to fill on this squad.

They have and that asking price was extreme. Cowboys better not be in on him if they want a 1st.
Havent the Eagles been hot on him?
They (Howie Roseman) also said they feel like their team is super top-heavy roster and cap-wise and they don’t wanna keep going in that direction. They want to hold on to their assets and build depth and youth, while not setting an example for big contracts for outside guys.

These reasons are why they didn’t pursue Hopkins after the initial conversation with Houston.
