I do like Dak and I'm fine with him being our QB. But I didn't like overpaying Dlaw or Zeke, and I don't like the prospect of overpaying Dak.
Overpaying players is not smart and it hurts the team in the long run.
Overpaying the wrong players does that. You have to overpay to retain your players. What Cowboys are doing with foreign. If you want your best players you must overpay.

If he ain't worth it then why doesJerry not move on? You can't hold someone hostage if they allow you to do it lol.
True!!!!

Because you must have a QB. And he's shown signs of having "it".

Honestly, I think we're stupid to not give him the short term deal he wants.

If this deal does not get done before the draft. Don't be alarmed is a QB is drafted by Round 2. Although the Jones love DAK, is MM sold on pay him 38 MIil a year is the question. I really think its a possibility not being muched discussed. Particulary if Dak wants/signs a 4 year deal and going to war with Jerry.

They aren't drafting a quarterback in round 2 lol.

They have Dak under contract for this year. He's signed.

Why does "I don't think Dak is good enough and not worth the money he's claimed to be asking for" get spun into "DAK HATE"? More importantly, what is with this weird devotion to a single player? It's the Dallas Cowboys, not the Dak Prescotts.

It’s easy to say you’re a hater than believe someone just disagrees with their pov.

It depends on who makes that suggestion. You haven't said a single positive thing about Prescott. Or anyone really.

....because he's like Derek Carr or Kirk Cousins. I don't have much positive things to say about them either.
I understand your take, I'm just saying I wouldn't be all that surprised that you're called a hater for such statements.

The following quote:

It’s safe to say Dak Prescott could lead the Dallas Cowboys to a Super Bowl victory and it still wouldn’t change his critics’ minds. They’d come up with excuses why he was actually bad. Why he was a product of the system. Why he’s not worth paying like a franchise QB.

First they said his win percentage didn’t matter because he wasn’t piling up big yardage and TD totals. Then when he started putting up elite yardage and TDs, they said these were empty stats in garbage time. Then when his elite numbers were qualified through QBR and EPA, they said stats that only mathematicians understood weren’t real stats. Then when these advanced stats were explained, they said they were only possible because Dak had an All-Star supporting cast.

Then when presented the running game’s poor EPA per play (compared to passing), the receiving corps high drop rate, and the coaching staff’s poor early down play-calling, “they” said the running issues were because opponents loaded the box, drops were from inaccurate balls, and play-calling was because the Cowboys abandoned the run too early.

Then when shown teams were NOT stacking the box, that Dak was one of the most accurate passers, and that Dallas stuck with the run far longer than the average NFL team, they said winning was all that matters. The same thing they discredited at the start. Rinse. Repeat.
Is so true.

JMHO
I like Dak, I really do. I just do not think that he has earned the right to be the highest paid player in the NFL. Zeke and Dak (if they sign him) are putting the squeeze on the cap, I think they are greedy.

This won't end. Ever. After his playing days the debate will continue. One side will never concede defeat. Even after the Cowboys win a super bowl with Dak. The back and forth will continue.
