Cowboys should have traded Ezekiel Elliott last year

No, they weren’t perfect but times have changed. The rules were different, society was different and there’s social media all over the place now. Players are always being watched and they’re being held more accountable. The difference is some players are smart enough to do things privately because they are aware of consequences and others are dumb as a pile of rocks who continue to act like jack holes in public, Zeke ks leading the pack.

Extracurricular activities aside, it doesn’t change the fact drafting him number 4 overall and paying him as much as we did was a complete waste and twenty plus years of historical statistics with RB’s, Super Bowl winners, etc prove that. Hey, you’re right though, he won rushing titles so he’s the best (never take O lines into account) so we should pay him as the best even though it makes zero sense from a business standpoint.
To you.

Watch Dak's "highlights" and see where Zeke is. He's very crucial to keeping Dak free...and injury free. Don't take my word for it......take a few minutes and look for yourself.

Most of the time, when not getting his blow....he's blocking defensive lineman, cathcing the pass....OR....running out taking would-be blitzers with him. It's not something just an RB does...especially the blocking and "decoy" work.

Too bad we can;t go back in time....take Zeke away...and see how Dak does, right?

Well I mean we have a three game sample size of Dak not having Zeke, but having Tyron Smith. He's performed far better than with Zeke in the fold.

Now that's not (too much) about Zeke, but rather the coaching staff being less reliant to give Zeke the ball which has killed the team at times.

Yes they do lmao. Sony is nothing special.

Just give another RB the same touches that Sony got and they still win it.

Bringing up Sony highlights the fact that RBs are interchangeable.
Another "good" RB, sure.

Hard to have a conversation when your response is NUH UH.

Another "average" RB, sure.
So that means it doesn't matter. Thanks
Hard to have a conversation when your initial statement was a false statement about the Pat's not winning without Sony freaking Michel lol.

Now turn that around. TENN rode their RB to the championship game. GB rode their RB to the championship game.

Get all the facts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah...and TN didn’t spend a 4th overall pick on him, did they? They didn’t win a Super Bowl either, did they? Same with Green Bay.

So 2 of the top 10 rushers made the playoffs and you bring up the exception, not the rule? Lol.

Get all the facts!

No...to the league and society in general. Sounds like you’re still living in the past along with the fans and Jerry who live in an early 90’s bubble while refusing to admit or acknowledge the changes in football, rules and societal standards.

Worked out real well for Zeke, didn’t it? He’s lucky he didn’t get a year long suspension, or more, for all the other things he was involved with that the league didn’t punish or investigate him for. If he played for any other team I doubt you would be so supportive, instead you would be crying about how the Cowboys always get screwed and how much he got away with.

For the record, I think his suspension was bogus but right or wrong that doesn’t excuse his other actions and the fact that he was already being investigated or had been suspended and still pulled that crap shows how dumb and irresponsible he is. He not only put himself at risk but his team as well. If you think Zeke is so important to this team I figured you would be po’d that he single handily jeopardized an entire season due to his idiocy. But nope, you and a few others, continue to paint zeke as the poor innocent victim who never does anything wrong.

I would lol if he did something else dumb to get suspended this off season, we would be fine without him and it might finally be his ticket out of Dallas.

Ezekiel Elliott I’m telling you . New offense , he will have a much better season this year. He is overpaid but I see him eclipsing 1500 yards this year.

Running backs don't last that long and Patriots prove you can win without a star running back
The whole "you can win without" debate is a senseless one. You can point to history and see teams that have won with / without a great (INSERT ANY POSITION or POSITION GROUP HERE). This even includes QB. The Cowboys have decided that they prefer to do it this way. If they chose another way we'd be saying they made the wrong choice and we don't need a great (INSERT POSITION or POSITION GROUP HERE).

A bit unfair on Zeke. I personally haven’t heard a peep from him in 2 years......he’s done all that has been asked of him.
Less than a year ago he pushed a security cop to the ground. He was handcuffed but never charged, he got lucky, the "victim" dropped the charges after he failed to extort 500k from Zeke.

Somewhat true but not really. The game has evolved and changed strategically. The players have changed physically and athletically. A formula or position that may have been more critical years ago may not be now.

What has been consistent for the past twenty years is that RB’s have become one of the most expendable positions and overall rushing yards doesn’t equal team success as far as W’s vs L’s.

Personally I highly doubt there is a position that people would be more critical of using the 4th overall pick on and paying the most ever for that position even if that player were the best at their position.

Lol, two different nightclub incidents, a security guard, being the first player ever to hold out with two years left on his contract and making a mandatory trip to the commissioners office is doing everything asked of him?

I know his supporters set the bar extremely low for his off the field behavior but that’s hardly not hearing a peep.

And 500+ yards receiving. And protecting Dak blocking on D-linemen.

Sounds like the "victim" deserved to get pushed if he's trying to extort 500,000 from someone.......

I'm mistaken. It wasn't 2 years ago. Maybe ti was a year ago. Feels longer. I honestly think since signing his deal he's been quiet.
