I originally said not making backup qb a bigger priority, but it has to be Taco. I don't think letting Beasley walk was a mistake at all. Cobb came in much cheaper and produced, will likely net the Cowboys a comp pic , and there is a deep wr class for the Cowboys to get a receiver of the future.

Besides keeping Garrett around?

I'd say letting Beasley walk.

The front office could have afforded him. Now there is a void to fill with Cobb leaving. Cobb was good, but did not show up when needed.

Beasley was just too reliable to be seen as expendable. Maybe he became a diva. But he certainly proved his point.

In Buffalo last season, Beasley caught 67 passes for 778 yards and 6TDs.

Well worth 7 million per year.

Beasley was a poor fit for us. Just a possession WR. Too small to contribute as a blocker in the run game. Too small to play true wideout and backup the starters.

Needs to be on a team where 3 WR is the base offense, so his slot role can be near full time. That ain't us.

Dez will be signed any day.

Expect it before the draft.

Then WR comes off the need list.

Then the biggest needs drop to looking for new DCC girls.

Beasley was an unhappy camper.

Dez will be such a Happy Camper he will cook your marshmallows for you by the fire.

Book it.

Dez can't create separation. I want more speed at WR. I could care less about watching fades and jump balls to Dez.

Believe it or not it still coming. The second Dak puts pen to paper on that cap crippling contract worth north of 30 million annually.

Taco was a product of a more fundamental mistake—that is, giving Marinelli as much power over player acquisition and philosophy as they did. Thanks to Marinelli’s “just coach ‘em up” mindset, they’ve been forced to replace three out of four staters on the defensive line in one off season.

Trading for Cooper.

Cooper's good, but now we had to pay him a ton, and he didn't solve our problems.

Beasley was one of my favorite players for a long time. Then it was like overnight he became a d-bag. Would I like to have him still here? Yes, but I'd rather have Randall Cobb. Would probably still have him if not for the STUPID deal he got from Houston.

Lol.

People buy a Bryant jersey and think he's gonna contribute.

His skills already were in serious decline. Two years and a ruptured Achilles later and he's gonna contribute?

The Dez Fan Bois will “will” it into existence!

The continuation of the Jones Family Nepotism Front Office model. How many seasons are needed to prove it doesn’t work?

The time that Jerry was getting ready to cross the street when Stephen yelled just in the nick of time, "Dad, watch out for that 18 wheeler!"

Oh well......

Cobb had empty stats.

Never made a difference.
Every Cowboy Offensive player had empty stats. That’s what happens when you go 8-8.
Before the season, I liked Beasley over Cobb, but after watching Cobb play, I liked him more. Little more of a deep threat, could run the ball a little bit, was better after the catch and blocked better. Also, and to me this is HUGE, at times Beasley would give up on plays.
