I'm not sure if its a problem yet. The real problem with the secondary was to me how they had them playing 10 yards off receivers on 3rd and 8. Little things like that bothered me. I think Lewis, Chido and Brown are a good solid core of corners. I'd still want to draft another however.
Brown is awful.

You will all see this year how awful. This FO's faith in him is alarming.

I'm still thinking that Lewis would make a good outside corner. And that we will soon find out.
I like Lewis. I like Awuzie. We just need someone who can match up with the Julio Jones', Michael Thomas', and DeAndre Hopkins' of the world.

Listening to the Break. These guys are out of their minds. They think Haha is a wash for Jeff Heath. LMAO. They also think Collins/Woods are about equal to McCoy/Poe.

they all believe this team is worse than it was a year ago.

Who really knows? It depends on how the players are integrated and what they have left/health.

For example, if we were to go with the corners we have now, there's a dropoff from Byron Jones, but if the pass rush is improved, then our corners could actually end up playing better.

What I expect, based on what these players have done elsewhere, is for McCoy to provide at least as much pressure against the pass per snap as Collins while being better against the run. Poe to be similar in run-stopping to Woods, but able to put some pressure on the QB as well. RDE is unknown right now because of the suspensions/comebacks, so that's a big question mark in pass rushing. If Crawford ends up there the majority of the time, we'll be better against the run on that side, though.

Clinton Dix has had at least two interceptions a year in every year but his rookie season, so clearly there's an upgrade there as far as turnovers go. Don't think he's any better than Heath at playing the run, but if we start him at FS as expected, that shouldn't be a big deal. The question will be if either Woods or Wilson can handle the SS spot. But since we still have the draft some questions might be answered then.

Only my opinion, but I agree with them on Dix. Seriously, he's not all that great IMO. Collins and Woods, I don't believe Collins had a very good season but he is younger. Woods is a really good young player to me but he's never approached the level that Poe has. Poe is a load if he's healthy. He's a difference maker but the problem is, how often is he truly healthy? That's the issue to me. I think the real area you can't point to and say that this team might be worse is WR, RDE and Center. WR and RDE are real issues but Center, we just aren't going to be as good there IMO. You can't teach what Fredbeard knew. That's just reality.

I've got to say I'm somewhat excited about the possibilities there that we have on roster (and concerned about them at the same time).

Pollard showed that he deserves more playing time, so if he gets in the slot, he'll bring some versatility with him. Jon'Vea Johnson is my dark horse because you can't teach speed. You can teach making sure you catch the ball first.

Gregory was hitting his stride late in the 2018 season before being suspended again. If Goodell free him, the question is can he get back to that level and how fast. I think Smith is going to surprise, but after such a long layoff and with the problems that he has, I certainly can't guarantee it.

Although McGovern is not likely going to be able to fill Frederick's shoes, there's a good chance the falloff there won't be that steep.

Of course, all that could blow up in our faces if the team sticks with these options and doesn't add others at these positions in the draft.

I listened as well. Sounded more like they were downplaying the new additions, not praising the guys who left. Lowering expectations.

Neither of those takes is far fetched. All three of those signings are stop-gap players with name recognition.

Just look at what each of those players was paid and how quickly they signed to get an idea of what the market thought of them.

With Garrett and Marinelli gone and MM and Nolan we are already a better team. At least better prepared, better game plans, better adjustments, better scheme, less predictable, take more risks, and better in game management. And we can already see with MM addressing the huge holes that Garrett never did in 10 years that he is head and shoulders better at building a roster than Garrett.

Right? now that the giant coaching hole is fixed and the roster is getting improved with Garrett out of the way, I’m expecting a minimum of three more wins/season and an NFC Championship game berth. I can’t wait.

McCoy and Poe are miles better. It’s not even close. I stopped listening to the Break. Nick and that little d bag Dave are just so arrogant. They are clueless.

The dropoff in pass rush from Quinn to 'whoever gets reinstated' is still a concern as well.
Agreed on the pass rush part. But what frustrated me so much about that D were the 20 yard screen passes on third and 8. And those we often run right past a rushing Quinn. He leaves a hole, but overall I think the DL will be better next year

What frustrated me even more was the $20 million man on the other side repeatedly losing contain on mobile quarterbacks. And allowing Josh Allen and Mitch Trubisky to keep drives alive and have career games.
