I agree 100% there is a corner out of Utah I like Johnson hes been listed in the 2nd Round

Stasharoo say they went corner in the 2nd Round but in the 1st Round Chaisson is already gone who might they pick at #17

The Cowboys need Defense but I keep wondering and thinking what if Ruggs III was setting there for their slot WR...…..Cooper, Gallup, Ruggs IIII and Jarwin…...hmmmmm

If I had to guess? I'd say Henderson if he was still available. And if they did that, I think that could very well have them going in a direction other than cornerback in round two.

I think you answered it yourself with your own initial statement. "The Cowboys need Defense."

I agree CC. I also like the two DTs Poe and McCoy that we brought in. I know they're not 21 year olds, but they're the kind of BIG strong guys we need on the DL instead of those Marinelli specials. They'll be an upgrade and help us against the run! AND we got 2 good placekickers to compete for the honors to replace that loser Maher.

I just read an article a few moments ago talking about one reason Crawford has not been asked to take a pay cut is because they are
viewing him as the other DE starter across from Lawrence

Stasharoo I've looked at the roster and like a lot of things they've done like McCoy and Poe in the middle and etc. however the one part of the team
that strikes me when looking at the roster is backup QB . I just have a feeling if Dak gets hurt that Rush couldn't get us into the playoffs.

My honest thinking is that McCarthy and Co will use 2020 to assess their backup quarterback options. Not having much, if any offseason hurts their ability to assess what they do have.

I hope the author of that article is mistaken. Crawford should be a backup, not a starter.
Surely they can do better than Crawford. I had hopes for Griffin, but so far that seems to have gone by the wayside. Maybe we can get some help in the draft.

I agree and didn't get excited when I read this...…..I'm thinking this is how it may go....

Lawrence - McCoy - Poe - Aldon Smith or Gregory are the starters

Rotation includes Crawford and Gregory and Aldon Smith at this point I'm not sure
who else we will have on the DL that are guaranteed spots

DLaw-McCoy-Poe-Gregory with a rotation of Armstrong-Smith-Crawford at DE, Hill-Woods-Crawford at DT is one of the best DL rotations the Cowboys have had in a very long time.

DL is full and ready to go. This doesn't take into consideration Jelks and Jackson that were taken in last years draft as well.

Cowboys need help in the secondary. Another SS would be wise to rotate with Woods, Ha-Ha and Thompson. If I were the Cowboys I would take another stab at Eric Berry. As a rotational piece he will be looking for a one year deal to prove he is healthy. Additionally I would also add another veteran corner to help. Someone like Breeland or even bringing back someone like Carr could make some sense. Someone to play special teams and get some further depth.

This would allow us to draft best available defensive player when our pick comes up in draft. If its a CB great, if its a DE great, if its a LB why not. The Cowboys need to focus on D this draft as they did in 2005 under Parcells where they captured Ware, Spears, Canty, Burnett and Ratliff.

Post Aldon Smith signing, I have to think that the odds are quite slim that the Cowboys will now sign Everson Griffen. Not saying that's the right course of action, only that I think that's what will happen.

And if that's the case, I would very much like the Cowboys to look into signing WR Taylor Gabriel. He would make a great slot replacement for Cobb and bring much of the versatility that he did. And he also brings something else - speed - and lots of it. I think that a speed element could really help this offense as well.

And it would not affect comp picks and would allow the Cowboys to not feel the need to force anything in the draft.

No Griffen? :(

I'm on board with getting Gabriel though!

will he come in for Stephen jones money?

can we give some of these guys 2yr deals ? im sick of the yearly rotation of 1yr FAS..dang that restructure of Quinn's deal was a mistake, I know hindsight but having his rights and giving it up for no real reason accept Jerry didnt realize quinn was going to put up that production..

He wasn’t what I’d call expensive before he was cut.

I think Crawford is the "floor" starter at RDE, better for him to be the main backup at the 3T, so we do not have to rely on Hill. I think Gregory, Smith, and maybe even a draft pick would be more dynamic at RDE if they are ready to go.

I think that the new defense would prefer a guy at RDE that can stand up and be sort of a hybrid 4/3, 3/4 edge guy, and Crawford is definitely not that.
