I've heard people on this board rave over Kinlaw. Not that I disagree that he's a good prospect, but since when did this guy become a can't miss prospect? I haven't read a single negative thing about him here
NFL.com felt his production didn't match his physical tools indicating there was some technique work to be done once he's drafted.

If it helps, here are some recent players mocked to us

Todd McShay has us taking CJ Henderson, CB, Fla
Will Brinson (CBS) mocked us Yetur Gross-Matos, Edge, Penn St
Charlie Casserly has us taking AJ Epenesa, DL, Iowa
Peter Schrager has us taking Xavier McKinney, S, Ala
Ryan Wilson (CBS) had us trade down to 20 and take Kristian Fulton, CB, LSU
Chris Trapasso (CBS) had Javon Kinlaw, DT, SCarol, falling to us!
Pete Prisco has us taking Casar Ruiz , C/G, Mich
Josh Edwards and Lance Zierlein also has us taking Henderson
I'd love to have Kinlaw fall to us, though highly unlikely.

I also wouldn't opposed to trading down to 20 and grabbing Fulton. I liked Henderson, but some of the recent tape I've watched on him raise some red flags. Tons of talent but horrible technique.

I am thinking you might be right on this. They guys we want may not be available. We shouldn’t “force this pick”. We shouldn’t reach.

Better to trade back if someone we want is not there at #17 move back and take someone at a better spot.

I don’t think Chaisson should be the pick. He’s a reach there. It would be better to move back and take Murray or Gallimore.

More picks is better in general, especially this draft. A well prepared team may end up with a really good draft because of the current lockdown on face to face contact.
Problem there is you need someone who wants to come up.

Who are they coming up for that we dont want?

That would seem to be a scenario where Love is on the board, probably about it. It's kind of unlikely.

Theres typically FOUR OTs that are mocked in the top 16, and I'm thinking the most likely scenario is BPA at 17 is one of them.

As bad as this defense has the potential to be, and as bad as I want mostly defense in this draft, I really hope they dont force the pick as well.

There are normally 17-20 players on Dallas' board with true 1st round value.
So we're right in that range.
If one of those doesn't fall to us, and also overlap with being a player we want, then a trade down is the smart move.
Agreed. Fully.

So...you're Dallas on the clock at 17. All of the players typically mocked to Dallas are gone...including the 3 WR, both DTs, etc.

There is no one calling looking to move up, although Love is still there.

The only player you have a first round grade on that's left is Georgia OT Thomas.

McKinney, Murray, Baun....all there.

What do you do?

Turned a lot of heads at the Senior Bowl.

Good question
1) even in your scenario you can always find a trade down, but it may not be of equal value
2) but If they really don't have ANY of those 3 players you listed as a first round grade, and in the wild chance we cant get anything at all in a trade down, Im taking for sure the one player that we think does deserve to be taken......Thomas.

I don't see anything negative when watching game footage of him...

Everybody is linking Brown to the Panthers. Hmmm..... His combine was below average and he is one tech. I think Carolina will pick one of those tackles.

There are sub 300 pound starting NFL 3techs that don't move as well as Brown. He's not a not squat body type either at 6-5 with excellent (34-14") arm length.

Was Suh as 1tech or 3tech: Like the proverbial 800 pound Gorilla, he played wherever he wanted to play.

Brown's combine wasn't good but his game footage is off the charts.

The only concern for the team drafting him is the question of if he can keep his weight down. He was 326 at the combine but probably needs to play at about 320. If his weight balloons up into the 330s then he would be just a 1/0 tech. He would still be good but you don't draft 1/0 only types that high in the draft.

I just want him or Kinlaw to fall. Having dreams of Poe, McCoy rotating with one of those monsters.
