I think the team is getting ready to make a big change at QB.

I think they have gone as far as they want to risk the team with Dak.

Aaron Roger's or Drew Brees he is not.

Quietly Dallas is looking at their options I believe.

They leaked that video clip of Jones interviewing a top QB in the draft the other day.

Clearly this is a message to Dak and his agent. Come to reasonable terms..

Or they will draft a QB high and withdraw the Tag on Dak and use his money elsewhere.

I do not think they are bluffing. Jerrah and team are going to get back control of the team for McCarthy going forward.

I think the team is willing to dance with Dak.

But I do not think they are willing to follow his lead.

McCarthy is now in charge. Not Garrett. Garrett was a pushover. McCarthy is a rock.

So while alot of us want to play draft experts and debate DBs and DL as our top picks..

QB maybe the real position needing a decision.

BTW-I am not looking for a fist fight here over Dak. Just observations from you guys about the team thinking.

That is all.

You may return to your regularly scheduled reruns on TV.

Comments?

:omg:

I think you just get drunk and think of the new dumb idea and post it.

I think they are looking at QB because they will ultimately give DAK a 4 year deal and no looking to extend him after that. I think France and Dak have really pissed the Jones' off.
Yes.

Dak and his agent are trying to squeeze the Jones.

In all fairness..they should just give Dak permission to seek a trade.

Let him be a FA but restrict him via the Tag and let the other teams set his value.

I think Daks jaw will drop once he finds his true value with other teams that do not have All Pros at OL, WR and RB.

Choke.

I"ll not offer an opinion on Dak's talent level, but...

The Cowboys are going with Dak. They are not trading him, nor are they using a high draft pick to get a replacement.

Whether or not they should is a different question.

The staff and FO wants Prescott to be in Dallas, that's what you're not getting.

Is it your opinion or are you basing this on something besides the video?

Im just shocked to se a thread of this nature from you. NOT!
Of course you are..not.

My gosh..does everybody have to think like you in order to fit in.?

So you are saying Jerrah is an idiot for putting the video clip up on his website?

You underestimate your opponent my friend.

Look in the mirror real closely.

No offense, but your worst enemy maybe you.

Again nothing personal. This is all just entertainment we are talking about.

Keep it real.

I honestly think the Cowboys aren't nearly as concerned with signing Dak as people on this site are lol. When I heard the only difference was the years on the deal and that the Cowboys were the ones who wanted more years? That told me all I needed to know.
This is so clear to me also.

Brilliant.

There were two threads on it over the weekend. I didn't put too much stock into it.

As an organization, the Cowboys must do their due diligence on any players that they think can help their team. Watching them conduct a video conference with a player who attended school less than 3 hours away is not definitive proof that they're pondering moving on from Dak.
Thanks. That was my thought too, but I was curious to know if it was even a top prospect, or just a middle/late round possibility.

If another team valued Dak at 2 1st rounders and the Cowboys didn't.....that would say a lot about their scouting department and their talent evaluators. Probably the same bunch that valued Taco Charlton over TJ Watt too.

As I said, I think the Cowboys value him more than that otherwise they would have used the non-exclusinve and taken the picks. There are teams that would give that for Dak.

A few questions ….

1. How many QB's are the level of Aaron Rodgers or Drew Brees, and if that is the requirement, where are the Cowboys going to find that kind of player? Obviously that kind of player is rare or we wouldn't have to talk about players drafted 15-19 years ago to use that example.

2. Do you have a link to the leaked video? I haven't seen it or even heard about it, so my curiosity is up.

3. Just as there have been reports of Dak asking too much, there also have been reports that the Cowboys are pushing for a longer term deal than the 4 year deals other QBs have signed, so how do we know which side is really responsible for the impasse?

As an FYI, I don't think the poster is saying that we require a Rodgers or Brees. Poster is simply pointing out that Dak is not one of those QBs.

Who are these teams that would've given up the two first rd picks?

You are reading it wrong. Just because another team is willing to give two first round picks for Dak does not mean that Dallas values him like that. Now, I personally think Dallas does value him higher than that so unless negotiations completely break down, Dak will be getting a long term contract. IF things go bad, maybe we let him go and try to find a replacement in the draft.

This is correct. The price of playing poker, if you want to take a QB that another team has developed, it costs 2 first round picks. Nothing says that they are worth it or not. I mean, some teams might believe that it's worth it. Some might not. New England has made a killing off of how they evaluate talent.

Of all the Dak threads, and I admit I have not read majority of them. But of the ones I have read, this is the most absurd anchor post of them all.

The conspiracy theory in the lead post in the thread was a wink short of suggesting Dak was the second gunman on the Grassy Knoll.

I swear there were more people riding Quincy's nuggs on this site back in the day, and he makes Dak look like Brady.

I can only imagine a post by an LSD medical experiment volunteer would be more obtuse than this little gem.

This team is built to win now with Dak at the helm. They might draft a successor, but I can't see Jerry and company handing the reins over to a rookie QB this season.

Fair enough, but that still begs the question of whether that really matters. After all, a QB not being at that level doesn't mean he isn't considered a key player that a team wants badly to retain.

Makes a lot of difference, in terms of contract. I mean, if you know that you don't have one of those guys and you like options in FA or the Draft that you feel might provide similar results, then you know that a draft pick or the right deal will save cap. That means you can improve the team in other areas. That's significant if you don't have one of those guys that everybody believes are can carry a team from the QB position.
